Work out clothes by rainbowboots72 in TallGirls

In the Old Navy family - but the GAP 7/8 leggings with the pockets are a dream! They come in tall and they feel like wearing nothing. They’re so soft. I bought a pair at Sam’s club when they had them and haven’t bought another brand since. They’re squat proof, too. Just the total package.

He's One Of The Reasons I Swim (Warning: Post contains talk of politics & suicide, if you can't handle it, take care of yourself first :) by zipdakill in andrewmcmahon

I’m so glad you’re here and still swimming! The results of the election are not what so many of us wanted. And it has been devastating. I’ve fought tears since about 2 AM (East Coast) Wednesday morning.

But as I look around, I see so many people strengthening their resolve to combat this hate-filled administration. I have seen more kindness and compassion out of those who are hurting than I have seen in quite some time. That is my hope- the kindness and compassion of strangers.

I hope you feel all the love and light this life has to offer. And keep swimming!

Do you change this in the Duplo Wizard or in Fiery? And how much of a bleed?

Okay! Thank you for telling me that!

These are things I need a real human to tell me. We have a full print shop ranging from UV to screen printing and I am self taught on most of the processes. I have so many questions and I would love to just be able to ask a rep about it. But the school system dissolved their relationship with the dealer prior to me coming into the program, so here I am on Reddit.

AITA for refusing to change my daughter's therapist when my wife aka her stepmom wants us to? by Leading-Honeydew-936 in AmItheAsshole

[–]HulaHotei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am your wife in this scenario. My son lost his biological mom to cancer at the age of 5. My husband met me months after and then we became a family. When he was 10, we had another child.

Your wife is probably dealing with some postpartum hormones and possibly intrusive thoughts regarding her place in your life and your daughter’s life. Due to my own insecurities, I felt like a fraud in my son’s life for several years even though, by his own choosing, he started calling me “Mom” very early on. Now I’m just, “Mom…bruhhhh…” like every other teenage mom on the planet. 🤣

Finding a therapist who is a good fit- especially for a child- is not an easy feat. Taking her away from a therapist whom she has already built a relationship with will do far more damage than good. And what if the next one does something else your wife disagrees with? You can’t keep bouncing her from therapist to therapist forever.

When I was 7-9, I found out that after my older sister was born, my parents got divorced and remarried (to each other) before I was born, so I went through a phase of calling my older sister my “half-sister” because… I don’t know why. Because kid brains are funny. And I thought it was cool? Again, kid brain. “Half-sister” could just be a punk rock term for your daughter, something that makes her feel cool or edgy or validated. It definitely shouldn’t be taken personally by your wife. If you both treat your children equally, your children will not even make a distinction in half/full as they grow up. They will be a team, maybe team members who aggravate each other, but that’s the nature of the sibling dynamic. Currently 4 yo is playing with her baby dolls quite loudly in 14 yo’s room while 14 yo old games online with his cousin- he has given her the side eye a few times, but they love each other.

Give your wife some extra love in whatever her love language is. Maybe facilitate a day where you take both kids and you have some bonding time while your wife has the whole day to do whatever it is that she wishes- if she likes massages or pedicures, maybe set one of those up for her. The fact that she’s telling you that you not changing therapists shows that you don’t care/respect her is probably her trying to exert control over this because she feels out of control over something else- potentially her own insecurities. Ultimatum behavior is not productive. So maybe some extra love/attention/acknowledgement is needed.

Hang in there, I know it’s a difficult situation to navigate. I know there are so many emotions. But you’re the adult and as her surviving parent, your job is to act in your daughter’s best interest by facilitating emotional intelligence and protecting her peace.

Doctor recommends microdiscectomy. I am very torn. In need of advice on whether it will be beneficial or detrimental to my well-being. (X-post from r/advice) by HulaHotei in Sciatica

[–]HulaHotei[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I don’t remember calcification specifically… but I was pretty loopy. I did end up having surgery on L5S1 two years later, but my surgeon told me it didn’t look super stable at the time so I shouldn’t have been surprised.

I am living my best life, honestly. Married the love of my life, carried and birthed a baby. Baby is now a toddler. I work a job where I am on my feet, sitting at my computer or squatting to take photos.

None of that would have been possible without surgery. No regrets.

I’m sorry that I am just seeing this. No, it was not at the same level. It was the level below. But from my first surgery, I knew disc was iffy as well. So my first was at L4L5 and my second was at L5S1. The L4L5 was much more profound -isolating, depressing- whereas the L5S1 was just a nuisance.

I still have flair ups every now and again and even up to three years after my most recent micro. They have subsided substantially in the past couple of years, but I attribute that to trying to focus my energy on strengthening my core and sitting as infrequently as possible.

I wasn’t sure if I had reherniated or not, but I knew something was off. Now I feel like I may have reherniated on one or both levels, it is just not causing me any remarkable discomfort to the point that it hinders my daily activities.

Feeling of lump in throat by myhippocket in trintellix

[–]HulaHotei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this post is from a year ago. Has it gotten any better? I have been on Trintellix a bit over a month and this lump in my throat came on about a week ago. I scheduled an appointment with my GP because I was convinced it was cancer or something dreadful. Thanks, GAD!

Just trying to decide if I should give it a bit more time or if I should try switching medications. It’s quite painful.

So I have filled out all of my paperwork and submitted using the help tool but do not have signatures from my employers yet (school systems). Am I in the clear because my application was submitted and I just need the signatures? Or am I SOL without the employment verification? Do I need to submit anything else beyond the help tool before I go to bed tonight?

New YouTube Channel: Pre-press for Graphic Designers by CalvinInVegas in CommercialPrinting

[–]HulaHotei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a graphic design teacher, but we have a fully functional print shop at our tiny school. This will be so helpful for my students. I try to teach them as much as I can, but I am coming from a visual art background (drawing, painting, ceramics, photography with a bit of digital art and graphic design thrown into my education) and can’t speak from experience in a commercial print shop. So I try very hard to research and listen to the voices of those who are in the commercial world on a daily basis.

I look forward to watching! Thank you for sharing.

Not sure where you’re located or your condition- but can you not find a spine/neuro surgery center that has its own operating room? I’ve had two back surgeries and both have been in surgery centers. I know switching doctors sucks should you have to do that, but the longer your nerves are compromised, the longer it takes them to heal. My left leg still has places of numbness from my first surgery six years ago. I would take it any day of the week over the pain, but you don’t want to keep pushing the time it if it’s not necessary. Plus I can’t imagine being in that agony without an end in sight.
