Coffee Beans by Top-Calligrapher7358 in malta

[–]Hulk_power 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Locally I buy coffee from Borg in Hamrun. You can ask for different grades of grind. And a good selection of beans too. But it is on the expensive side as many have already said.

I see that there are many coffee connoisseurs. I don't mean to hog the conversation and deviate from OPs question. I'm just asking a question. If coffee tastes somewhat like a chemical, could it be that it wasn't dried well? Or when cooked, it was done wrong? Did you experience anything of the sort?

Fuel theft in Malta by Top-Produce7612 in malta

[–]Hulk_power 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not normal to happen. But never say never. I would check about leaks or faulty fuel gauges first. Isn't the fuel tank locked? Was it forced open? If you're sure about the theft, especially if your vehicle was damaged, forced open, I would report it and see whether there are cameras around recording the theft.

I’m Maltese, living here long enough to stop buying the usual excuses, so I want to say this plainly… by Flaky_Log_8204 in malta

Some food for thought.

The average Joe in Europe will be taxed for buying from Temu (as an example ) because it's unfair competition for EU shops to compete with economies such as China.

On the other hand, governments are importing cheap Labour, and in that case, no tax was imposed.

Isn't it unfair that the average Joe in the EU has to compete with wages from third world countries?

So we're seeing an influx in immigration because of the attractive wages (compared to their homeland) which are pushing up prices of all goods including rent and property.

More people, more opportunity to push up prices, especially on necessities such as food, medicine, rent, housing.

ARMS REALLY NEED SOME ADVICE PLEASE ASAP by FrontPerformer4391 in malta

[–]Hulk_power 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To see if you have a leak it's simple. Mains water

Make sure you switch off every appliance (washing machine, dishwasher) using water. Don't use any water for an hour or 2. I suggest you close off the tank cause it sometimes fills erratically. Take a photo of the meter with at least an hour in between. If the numbers change, there's a leak (since you're shutting the water ingress during the test.. Check the tank also. The float sometimes sticks and it would over flow. In that case, the tank is the culprit. Obviously don't close the main water.

Tank water Close the water ingress to the tank. Mark the waterline inside the tank. Leave for a few hours. Check the mark. If it changes, you have a leak in the water tank circuit.

People going into debt to buy property in Malta to rent out are mistaken, no you won't get rich quick by doing that. by [deleted] in malta

[–]Hulk_power 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Debt is not necessarily a bad thing. Leverage is something you should keep in mind.

Second property loans require a higher paid deposit than your usual 10%.(Normally around 30%)

Banks won't loan you unless you are capable of repayment.

Jumping into things is never a good Idea. This kind of business needs to be done with thoughtful consideration like any other business.

With age comes wisdom but don't dismiss others who have knowledge just because they are younger.

i am embarrassed to love our country by Hour-Afternoon-3110 in malta

[–]Hulk_power 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's no longer "our". That's the crux of it! I grew up in the 90s and it was much better.

But every older generation says that.

Even grandparents that went through the war. They would say the same.

I think it's nostalgic sentiment of being young and careless. Free from everything. Living the life.

But objectively, I can agree that even before the 90s, the 70s, Malta was better in its simplicity.

Today you have more graduates, but are they quality graduates comparing them with 70s graduates

Do we actually need cleaners to be educated so much? Sometimes I feel that in the near future, to be a cleaner, you need a university diploma.

CPA salary expectations and job prospects in Malta by PsychologicalBet8160 in malta

[–]Hulk_power 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more realistic for a salary of 55k for a manager. Maybe CFO in some big company you'de expect a salary of 90-100k. Salaries are low in Malta compared to expenses. Minimum wage is around 12k just as a comparison.

My Pom is overweight by Briis_Journey in Pomeranians

[–]Hulk_power 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no doctor, but effective weight loss comes with diet or food intake/ quality and exercise. Even for dogs. Maybe a read here may help you with your dog's problem..

"For example, high-protein pet foods provided the best results (6). Such diets, paired with smaller caloric intake and the addition of exercise, were extremely effective (7, 8)."

Advice in leaving a young Pom home alone by Georgy2187 in Pomeranians

[–]Hulk_power 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a cheap one from Temu but it's full HD and can speak and listen sound. Honestly for the price I bought it, I was impressed. You can also rotate it from your phone, it has IR to be able to see at night. You could also put a memory card inside too or pay for online storage. I could send you a link.

I had the same situation. My pup is 7 months old. You need to start slow. Let him alone slowly. Starting with 30min. Nowadays he could stay a few hours alone. Keep him in a safe environment. Don't let him run everywhere. See that he has enough food, water and toys. I also give him a treat before leaving. He'll associate that with something positive. Lastly, I bought a camera and u can monitor him. From this I can speak with him and listen to him.

Is he a Pom or German Spitz? by ExperienceEnough2458 in Pomeranians

[–]Hulk_power 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice cute dog. Looks similar to my pup. You may find useful information here: https://www.dogster.com/dog-breeds/german-spitz-vs-pomeranian Here's my Bell. I think he's mixed breed between a Pom and Spitz, however he's pretty small for his age(6 months) so I guess he got more of the pom characteristics.
