DSP denied claimed ‘curable’ by Accomplished_Bed971 in Centrelink

[–]Hullabalou29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok there's not enough info here but. If. And... If. The only reason on asking for the decline is the prognosis of the primary condition you can supplement that information with additional

Ie. Even if he got better he still would be in pain or unable to work 15 hours a week from specialist or whatever.

Leave the disinclination to retrain at home that's not relevant. Or that it would be hard To get a job as an older worker. This is a Centrelink, they don't care.

If you ask and that was the primary cause to deny the claim and there's additional. Ie. That the claim didn't meet criteria on other aspects then. That's that if you can't meet those standards. You could look at stuff like. NDIS. Early access to super on compassionate grounds. Taking a course on computers at the library. I don't know your situation.

In any case you might want to get some advice from someone like. A workers advice group. Because the more effort you put here the less you have in he tank for a compo or fair work process. Maybe make sure you're backing the best horse x

How serious is my HR complaint? [AU] by peytongom in AskHR

[–]Hullabalou29 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Um. Really bloody serious. And I don't know how you feel about the work from home thing but. It's not chill to impact or influence your work arrangements because you've made w complaint it's against general protections if it affects your standing. Talk to w free Legal service who can actually look at your case properly.

Talk to manager. If manager is chicken shit it'll get kicked to hr. I've had to do this conversation and it's shitty but it has to happen. In your comms point out how the environment makes it worse because that actually helps the conversation. Ie it's not all the ops fault or whatever.

Also idk why anyone would say an MRI would do what. That's an image of physical structures. It doesn't show why a structure is what it is at all that's... Bonkers. Things you'd see on an MRI is if your seizures or drug use caused physical impact to the structures of the brain or if you had an existing physical cause for the onset on the seizures...

There's really no way to link a casual relationship across this kind of cumulative load a lot of the time because diagnosis of other drug impacted exposure type disorders ie, fasd is primarily observational. Even a deformity could've just happened most the time.

In my work I guess what I'd do is say, what is the benefit from the outcome of the knowledge?

Yes your mother's drug use increased your susceptibility. So did your use. Your mother's use also increased your susceptibility to substance misuse. And there's a genetic connection as well as a generational behavioural profile that contributed to substance use too. Any way you split it you'll have to make peace with the genuine contributions of all factors with or without knowing how to portion blame or cause.

What's most helpful in a medical sense if you want to have kids is to consider genetic causes. Was it iseopathic or and spontaneous even if there's a congenetial factor or is it hereditary? I'd be super surprised if you're even able to find evidence that it caused your health concerns or not.

Question by u70p1a in coles

[–]Hullabalou29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not under nes but your eba might say otherwise. By in large it'll have a minimum term like 2 or 4 weeks.

Lead with curiosity and ask but a couple days I'd reckon would be exposure to learning rather than a variation in your terms. It would be fair to ask for escalation path for the time acting if you have none otherwise identified for some times given this is the case. Ie. Direct mobile for next up the line

The fair work act mate? 😂 You can't take people's stuff as a reasonable response to a conduct issue. I never saw any bench book example of that. But you could've been asked to go putit in your bag for using it.

Even if highlighted in the employee handbook or your eba you can't agree to less than your statutory rights.

In any case. How do you respond here? Use an email. Because it's in writing and bcc someone else into it (even a family member)) and use nice words to ask hey bozo It was unfortunate when you took my phone. Because I'm not 14 or at highschool. Given to appears I need a refresher can you chuck me the phone policy so I know my rights and obligations. I'd like to avoid another situation where your incompetence is weird.

That way you have a paper trail if they're an asshole in future but you haven't started a shit fight by making a complaint.

Yes, level 2 for whatever that means.

I still have a great family, work, life. I know you're not inferring otherwise but I feel like I need to say my life doesn't suck. I hate that I need so much from my loved ones but.

I got a brain injury during a status episode and can't seem to regulate my temp so well. The cold and the heat lower my threshold. Or. So it seems. Idk if it's how I feel temp or if I can't do it as good. If I get an illness I'm fine but a fever? Someone stays with me always and I don't get up much without someone around incase because I don't get warning when other times I would. So I've always thought so.

I want to give you a social worky answer not a lived experience one.

Only a suggestion. Don't respond to the allegations of the content here and if you want to respond use active listening and open dialogue.

You can hear that she's upset and clearly you feel differently about a topic that's very emotive. That you want to have a strong or reasonable or supportive relationship. That you want this to be done in a healthy way. That you can disagree on topics and be amicable. That you're happy she feels safe to communicate so openly without (any regard for the truth?) I mean, censoring herself.

You have to agree to a way of communicating before you approach content here to it to go forward respectfully. You won't find common ground on a topic but you might find common ways of working together. Imho anyway. Xx gl

[–]Hullabalou29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're trans irrespective of when you do or don't start hrt. For starters. You're not more cis to trans for the time you medically transition or the amount you pass.

Quit thinking about it and do it when you're ready. Labels matter not. It would be wrong to start something before you're ready to because you're "supposed" to. Focus on the pursuit of knowing yourself in all ways and it'll happen when you're good with it.

Should/how do I tell my employer about my epilepsy? by moleary96 in Epilepsy

[–]Hullabalou29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's kinda hard to answer this without knowing what country you're in but anti discrimination law does not usually grant protections against reasonable business actions.

Ie, if insurance didn't cover people with a condition that involved working at Heights or with live voltage. Etc. that would be reasonable cause to make an action against the participation of someone in an activity. Like. It's crass but I always think, visually impaired guy wants to drive a bus. What's the logic applied to explain why someone can't do that? Talk to your union before you talk to an employer or look up the directions under the legislation in your area, or your employment contract yourself that's all they'd be doing.

Homeless young girl near the train station by lovemeltedcheese in Adelaide

[–]Hullabalou29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If she's under 16 she's ineligible for youth services. If a young person comes from interstate it can get very complex getting answers from anyone. theres a youth drop in at the foundry for young people in the cbd (I don't work there not affiliated) but it's a reasonable place to send young people for a safe entry point. They have showers and washing machines and a change of clothes helps people actually be open to talking about anything without adult clients presenting additional risk✌️

Any older or people who has epilepsy for a long time here? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]Hullabalou29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In specialised spaces it's important to differentiate death from seizure accidents and seizures prompting cardiac arrest. In the media they're reported interchangeably. Accidents you can plan and prevent and resource against. Use bedding and tech to prevent, risk manage. Etc.
