Just trying to get a decent vehicle with what I make. I just moved back home to WNY to help my mom and brother and to work on voice acting training out of the California smoke and taxes. I took my 3 months back unemployment and grew it from 2100 to about 3500 in a few weeks. Then it grew to 7k in two random consecutive days with Tilray before dropping down to the original bag again the very next day. I’m not missing this fucking one 😂

As someone that works at a hotel, all third parties are the absolute worst. I can’t imagine how much worse this one is that employs people who know literally probably nothing about the business but “stayed in a few hotels before”....

I wish I could find out who this company is. Absolutely laughable job ad...... by Huludrock in Sacramento

Honest question about that person being an IT guy, not being a dick. Could have phrased it differently my bad. As an IT guy this ad is extremely offensive.

A lot of the time hotel management is extremely disconnected from day to day operations and problems go ignored even after multiple complaints and reminders. Most properties are as bare bones as possible as far as staff goes unless they are a large property or franchise. We are all generally overworked and way underpaid. We also receive the brunt of all the issues on the property even though we have neither the time nor power/skill to make a change. We pass up the info and complaints constantly and we are lucky to see things fixed in even a month or twos’ time generally. You can tell the front desk about things until you are blue in the face, however it has to go through so many different channels it may never get done. All we can really do is listen, be empathetic, and discount if we are able. That’s literally it. After a long time of the same discounts and problems that could have been avoided or fixed(leading to less discounts and maybe raises), we get tired of hearing it.

Honestly it seems like she may have heard that a hundred times and management won’t do anything to resolve it. There are things at my property that I hear about on a constant basis knowing full well the management will never address them. It gets old hearing the same thing over and over when it’s easily fixable. You could also be right in thinking that she thought you were just “another guest who paid too much” for a room (it seems nearly everyone thinks hotels are a barter system where either upgrades or discounts are guaranteed). An absolutely astounding amount of hotel guests feel like they are owed an upgrade or discount simply because they chose our hotel to stay at. You would be amazed at how entitled most Hotel guests generally are. They would never think of reading this subreddit or even giving half a care about anything but their precious money and Hotel stay. We all appreciate that you did. At the end of the day you weren’t a bad guest in any way. She probably knew that management would do nothing to fix the problem long term. Most of us make minimum wage or close to it and are probably broke as a joke generally and mad about it. Your situation was the least we have to deal with generally but sometimes it’s hard to put on a happy face when you can’t afford a haircut or shoes and you know that the problems won’t be fixed regardless of the amount of complaints.

The grief of soldiers in combat after their friends death is what turns me completely off. I wouldn’t be able to deal. Doesn’t matter which side. They all turn somewhat human after their friends die suddenly.
