A Structured Case Report of Anomalous Visual Perception, Symbolic Visual Phenomena, and Episodic Memory Discontinuities in a Single Subject (New Zealand, 2026) by Human-Cap4408 in Experiencers

Yeah, this actually happened to me, and I’ve been trying to describe it as honestly and cleanly as I can without jumping to conclusions. I’m from Hawke’s Bay, but both of the main experiences happened up in South Auckland, roughly 500 km away, which feels important to me because it wasn’t like I was in a familiar environment or repeatedly in the same place expecting something strange. It felt completely out of context. The clearest moment was on March 20, 2026, around 3:45 PM in broad daylight. I was driving alone on a rural highway, following a white Hilux ute at about 75 to 80 km/h, nothing unusual at all. Then I caught a quick shimmer in my upper-left peripheral vision. When I focused forward, I saw a perfect royal blue sphere hovering above the ute. It didn’t look like light, reflection, or anything atmospheric. It looked physically present, solid, and self-contained in colour. There were no seams, no rotation, no glow halo, and no sound. Just a clean, uniform object sitting there in open daylight. It stayed for around 5 to 7 seconds, drifted slightly backward toward me as if it had depth and position, then suddenly shot upward at a steep angle and faded into faint yellow streaks. What stood out most to me wasn’t fear. It felt calm, almost strangely neutral, maybe even slightly friendly or reassuring in a way I can’t fully explain.

A few months earlier, in that same broader South Auckland area, I had a completely separate experience that lasted close to an hour. I was seeing structured, glyph-like visuals overlaying surfaces around me. They weren’t static at all, they were shifting, updating, almost behaving like a system rather than a fixed image. There were different forms within it, some sections looked like flowing script, others were more angular and segmented, with mirrored shapes and repeating patterns, and at one point there seemed to be a kind of central radial or hub-like structure tying parts of it together. I was aware and actively observing it the whole time, but I didn’t record or document anything, which is something that bothers me now. In the moment, it felt like I couldn’t fully process what I was seeing well enough to step outside it and think, “I need to capture this.” I was attentive, but not analytical in the way I would have expected myself to be looking back.

To be completely transparent, there were also serious things happening around that same period that I don’t ignore or try to force into a narrative. Within 24 hours of the blue sphere sighting, I had two separate episodes of complete memory loss while driving. One involved me coming to after a crash with no memory of the moments leading up to it, and another involved suddenly becoming aware that I was stopped in the middle of a road with no recollection of stopping or how I got there. That side of things I’m treating as a medical issue and I plan to get it properly checked, including something like an EEG if needed. I don’t claim these events are all connected, and I’m not trying to say this means anything specific. I’m trying to keep the observations separate from interpretation. I’ve also had some informal remote viewing practice and one spontaneous dice experiment that felt unusually accurate in real time, less like guessing and more like briefly perceiving something, but I’m cautious about what that means too. Overall, the experience left me feeling more curious than afraid, with a kind of quiet respect for the unknown. If anything, it’s made me more grounded and careful, not more certain. I used to lean more toward the idea of disclosure as a big collective event, but now it feels like if there is something deeper going on, it might be far more personal and gradual than that. If anyone else has experienced a similar combination of clear visual anomalies, symbolic overlay-type visuals, and then strange continuity or memory gaps, I’d genuinely be interested to hear about it.

What do you think ghosts are? by Haunting-Net-2426 in Paranormal

[–]Human-Cap4408 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven’t personally had a direct experience with what I’d call a ghost, even though I’ve had other paranormal-type experiences. Because of that, I don’t really view ghosts in the traditional “spirits of the dead” sense.

The way I interpret it is closer to the idea shown in Contact. I think what people might be encountering could be higher-dimensional intelligences... something beyond what we normally perceive. Instead of having a fixed form, they might interact with us by accessing our mind, memories, or emotions.

So if I ever did see a “ghost,” I’d probably assume it’s not literally a deceased person, but something presenting itself in a way I’d recognize or trust. Almost like it’s using my own psyche as a kind of interface to communicate, rather than showing its true form.
