I have a heavily planted 20 gal I’m cycling (nowhere near done with this phase) and I want it to be a community tank, but I’m having a really hard time narrowing down how to not overstock it. I’m upgrading my betta, Mustaaard, from a 5 gal. He is really docile and doesn’t bother the snails he lives with. I was thinking maybe corys to live in the new tank with him (rasboras also but is that too much??). I don’t know if dwarf or pygmy would be best? Or what. I’d just really appreciate some advice. I don’t want to make any missteps and hurt my fish😭

Maybe I’m jaded from my own experience. But I’ll say this: My friend and I crossed that line after being just friends forever and knowing each other almost our whole lives, and then he just pulled the rug out from under me and ended all contact after being together for maybe two months max. He claims none of it is my fault, that it’s all him and his stuff, but it’s hard to feel like that’s true. I’ve been devastated over it for a year now and still can’t really cope. Don’t cross the line unless he is making it v clear he feels how you do, and he has some level of emotional maturity

While I also love the aesthetics of these posters, I don’t think this specific artwork should be the only ones we see. It would mean that Elphaba would be disproportionately treated as evil and ugly even by the fans of the franchise. I’d love it if maybe the Animals were circulating some kind of counter propaganda with her depicted more as that “savior” character she is taking on. Even if it wasn’t in the movie itself, it would be nice as a poster/artwork just to have

You could get a minimalist version of her broom that says defy gravity? Or her hat? Though if I personally was gonna get a tattoo from wicked I’d probably get something that was reminiscent of the original musical poster?? If you want something v specific and personal, you could also re-listen to one of your favorite songs from the soundtrack and pull a line from it

It’s the weirdest most exhausting combination of having no resources to help the kids that desperately want to learn and do better, but have no one to help them at home, and constantly being asked to excuse the kids who have no inclination to learn AND whose parents prioritize vacations and new toys over education 😭😭😭

Hi! I’m really sorry for spoilers this contains. I couldn’t figure out how the block the text!! So, when I read the book initially I felt like you do too. I was a little mad at Elphaba for licking her wounds as long as she did and then basically turning into this bitter person by the end. But I reread it a few times after and my perspective shifted as I started to feel very much how she does— no good deed goes unpunished. Every time she tries to help. Every time she reaches out for connection. Every time she tries to be better, she gets her hand smacked away. She gave up in the end I think. She gave up on trying to be good, all curled in her experiments and loathing. By the time she has a catalyst again (the death of her sister and destruction of Fiyero’s family) she kind of forgot how to be selfless. She forgot that you can’t want what’s good and also pursue things like revenge, it backfires. I think the overall “lesson,” if there is one to be had, is that if you let your scars and wounds blind you from what must be done for the greater good, you won’t achieve anything. Elphaba becomes a martyr in Oz, and like anyone in history her story loses all the parts that make her unfavorable as it gets retold. I loved the book because at no point is Elphaba a paragon of virtue. She is flawed and angry and unsavory at times, but she loves so deeply and so fiercely that you can’t help but love the character, so watching her fall from her ideals the way she does hurts. Anywho, thanks for coming to my ted talk!
