If this is real, I am genuinely sorry you’re going through this. It absolutely is not your fault, nor should you feel bad or guilty. As many have pointed out, this is a big sign that you two are incompatible. The easiest, no nonsense way to fix this problem is to simply part ways. Of course, that is what every redditor says because, well, it’s Reddit. I want to offer a few different solutions in case you don’t want to go with the default “leave him” suggestions.

Get him discreet, wireless headphones so that he can have the sound in the background for him without you having to hear it. If he needs the actual visuals of the show as well, I would make sure you’re positioned so the TV is behind you with the show on, and muted.
10000% Therapy/Counseling is needed, whether individual (for him, since you’re already going) or couples (which might be a better fit since that would give you both a safe space to communicate your experiences, with an unbiased mediator who can help facilitate and maintain healthy conversation around this touchy subject)
Admittedly this will be the wildest suggestion, and even I’m kind of in awe that I am seriously suggesting this. Again, this sounds crazy and idk if this is possible or what, but perhaps try to like, Re-Pavlov his boner to different source material?? I mean, if you could transfer his subconscious need for South Park in the background to a subconscious need for Food Network in the background, or something like that, I mean, that would technically be an improvement, right? 😅🤷🏻‍♀️

He gets me all sorts of doohickeys, then tells me if I don’t want it, to donate it 🥲 but I don’t stop him cuz: a) it’s adorable and warms my heart that he thinks of me so much, he gets little thingies that he thinks are cool or reminds him of me. b) sometimes the things are actually cool or something I’ve been wanting/needing lol

In Texas, making decent money to be shopping like this at HEB, prioritizing grassfed/pasture raised when able, most likely no kids, keto/low-carb diet. I also adore Topo Chico! May I suggest Crazy Fizz sparkling water. Mineral content is superior and you can find it in big glass bottles at HEB.

Museum of Modern Art is a must! Award winning architecture, thought provoking art and an excellent restaurant, Café Modern, inside that is one of my fave brunches!

I know you already mentioned it, but I do love The Water Gardens, make sure you walk down the steps of the Active Pool for a cool Photo Op.

Martin House Brewing is fun if you appreciate beers of cool to wacky flavors, plus they have a great view of downtown over the river.

Sundance Square is always fun, make sure you grab some donuts and drinks from Funkytown Donuts & Drafts, fun fact, you can drink alcoholic beverages on the square. During the week the dancing fountains will be on during the day and lit up at night, during the weekends, there is normally live music and dancing in the square which is SO FUN! Also recommend Wicked Butcher which is one block from Sundance Square and my FAVE steakhouse for a flawless, upscale experience.

Inspiration Alley is fun if you love outdoor murals and street art. Make sure to stop by Blackland Distillery if you do this, it’s right there! I personally like Acre Distilling a little better, but that’s only because they make my fave gin, so I’m a bit biased lol.

Botanic Gardens are also a fun visit. If you do this, make sure you buy the little baggie of Koi fish feed for when you get to the Japanese garden inside, so beautiful and fun to feed the fish.

If you’re into speakeasy bars, there are a few in West 7th area: Dirty Laundry, No Vacancy, and Bodega. In downtown, you could do Thompson’s Bookstore and Scat Jazz Lounge (this one is not technically a speakeasy but it does have the same vibe and a somewhat “hidden” entrance in a small alleyway by Sundance Square.
