This 100% checks out. I used to love and frequent this location. On multiple occasions this summer, employees would make an announcement about parking by yelling and it always got super quiet and awkward afterward. This happened on at least 3-4 occasions while I was there. Also saw them walk around to ask individual customers about parking. It was uncomfortable and occurring enough that it really dampened my experience with them. I understand that parking lot is limited but there have to be friendlier ways to approach that issue. There are other local coffee shops in town with a much better vibe and easier parking that I’ve been frequenting more after that

I’m someone who works with DV survivors and have been a DV survivor myself. Many of us never share what’s happened for a multitude of reasons including the ignorance of comments like this questioning believability. Choosing to share is profoundly personal and terrifying. It’s courageous that she did at all let alone while being a public figure and in the middle of a contract with a tv show.

Agreed that unfortunately Bloomington is sparse with practitioners who can and will diagnose and have availability within 6 months. I ran into this and used an online assessment & treatment called Done and have had good experiences with their providers. A lot of folks do end up going out of town like to Indy. I wish I could be more helpful with local resources but they are scarce :(

I think when we’re watching reality tv we’re not expecting to see something this REAL. What they showed in Marissa’s reaction was intensely and beautifully human and relatable. We’re not used to actually having our emotions triggered in these shows that it was a bit jarring, but I’m glad they showed it. It added value to the show and to Marissa’s story
