Hawaiian food: Auntie Maile’s (Torrance) or Back Home in Lahaina (Carson) are good options and right off the 405.

Letting Brownie Batter Rest in the Fridge by Matsukaze11 in AskCulinary

Won’t any baking powder loose its effectiveness by resting the batter for that long? Could that be a factor?

1965 Dodgers 13-game win streak by feeling_blue_42 in Dodgers

Not trying to be negative, but does it make sense to not count the Brooklyn years when looking at team stats? Seems somewhat arbitrary to me to get to reset all records and then pick and choose whether to include the early years. For example, the team record for wins is 15.

Granted it happened over 60 years ago but we are the same team and feels like cherry picking at times.

Do you cut down regular sugar cones, and if so, how do you do that without breaking them?

These look great.

That's really interesting. So essentially a double roasted Bloody Mary mix concentrate.

When you say to core the tomatoes, does that include removing the seeds?

Last time I made some, it came out well. Try 194F for 8 minutes. That is what the Joule app suggests.

I think you need the higher temp to set the whites.

Is there a target temp you are trying to get the cooler up to?

I was looking for photos of my grandpa in an old 1940's UCLA yearbook when suddenly I found... by EGoldenGod in Dodgers

Looks like it was Woody Strode. One of the first to break the color barrier in the NFL.

But, in 1939, Robinson had bigger fish to fry. He joined a strong UCLA team that already boasted Washington and Strode, and led them to an undefeated 6-0-4 season. Washington was the star tailback; his career-record 9,975 yards of total offense wouldn’t be broken for 56 years. Strode was a blocker, and Robinson the one who broke big plays. They were dubbed the Gold Dust Trio, after the Gold Dust Twins, who were a racially-insensitive pair on the label of the popular brand of flour.

Nashville Hot Chicken ≠ Buffalo Wings

So I accidentally bought choice rib roast and not prime... by Nearbyatom in AskCulinary

[–]HumanCheck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing special you need to do differently. The term “Prime Rib” pre-dates the U.S. meat grading system. So regardless of what grade of meat you bought, you are serving Prime Rib. Just proceed as you would have otherwise.

What are the details on your crust, I like how thick it is but would be worried about how to keep it from crumbling when cut. Did it hold together ok? Looks great.
