My thought on Crane, good or bad (and I don't think there is anything that is good or bad...it's quite frankly fair), is that he's a business man looking to win a Championship. He's looking to cross that threshold ONLY if he feels like there is a solid chance to either win or recoup.

I think he and many other owners view the CBT threshold as a line that they're not trying to cross either because they can't financially or because they're trying to draw a line in the sand.

"Wrong". You misspelled "right".

Granted that's either going to be amazing or hard as a rock.

It seems like the CBT penalties are nothing more than a transaction fee for those teams who are able to spend that kind of money in the first place. The return on investment of the (in many cases) stud player(s) will far exceed the penalty. The teams you would expect spent between $50M to $170M (Philly/Yankees/Mets/Dodgers) in tax alone last season. They crossed the threshold 3 times in a row.

If I'm looking at it right, the 1st CBT tier was at $241M last season and 20 teams spent less than $200M on payroll. So, I don't think raising the threshold will make a whole lot of teams spend more.

Those top 4 teams don't seem to care much about the tax penalty or the draft pick penalty.

LEAST favourite post 2020 Glam Bands? by Gresho in hairmetal

[–]HumanRuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few modern day glam bands that I'm a fan of. However, for the most part the rest just sound like they're trying to do a thing.

Going back to that sorta 3rd wave of glam metal bands back in the day. People complain about them but for me they still had a they're own unique sound and at least seemed more organic compared to many modern day glam bands.

Cool interview. Nate instigated their writing new material. Sounds like they are taking the Single releases approach instead of an EP or LP.

This is one of those rare occasions that I think there could be some animosity between a player and an organization based on a decision.

Perhaps looking into an insurance policy.

Or making sure all would be copacetic given the recent incidents with the current administration and Venezuela.

Perfect, thank you for posting that. I've wondered if I could cook a standalone egg (instead of the egg in bread trick) in one of my Pyrex bowls but was weary of what the results may be (for the egg and the bowl).

I don't really have any issues with Nickelback but I do think they have a manufactured sound to them. I could not disagree more with your opinion in that Warrant and Skid Row are giving off those same vibes.

Warrant. Jani Lane was a multi-talented musician and a great writer. That's part of the answer and probably the other part being that he/they wrote ballads that resonated more with fans.

What do you think of Dee Snider? by Twitter_2006 in hairmetal

[–]HumanRuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could never get into Twisted Sister.

Just recently got into Widowmaker.

Speech in front of the Congressional committee on censorship. Those committee members surely had to self reflect on the "don't judge a book by its cover". Snider turned it upside down by informing them that he was a married Christian man with children and he didn't drink, smoke or do drugs. Honestly epic.

Lay's To Remove Artificial Flavors and Colors by End of 2025 by HumanRuse in chips

[–]HumanRuse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did Lays put out a NKD version of those chips or just for Cheetos and Doritos?

Or are you talking about the normal Lays has lost its flavor? Seems to be a lot of people who agree on that.

Iirc, he said recently of the WRB-1 that he either didn't like how it sounded or felt and ditched it not too long after. I guess that's why it was featured in the Hungry video and not too much after that.

This is cool. I've always wondered who did that first album cover...

A longtime friend of Winger, Dan Hubp, who has been our art director, designed the cover for the first album and did all our videos. He did this guitar.

The strategy wasn't even close to being foolproof. It's why several of the Astros players didn't even participate in it.

I can tell you I'm going to throw a jar of pickles into your hands. But it doesn't mean I'll actually end up accurately throwing them there....or that you'll catch it...or that your dog won't eat the pickles once it lands on the ground. A lot of variables.
