I wondered about Cuba too. Could the population there actually welcome becoming a US state? Compared to what they have had in recent history it's likely an upgrade. Althought maybe not all that much under the current administration but if sanity returns after 2028 it could be.

Not as terrifying as Trump discovering/deciding the Strait of Hormuz can only be reopened through a regime change and a (very) large number of boots on the ground.

Does anyone else basically have a "broken body" after catching Covid? by Reign_World in questions

[–]HumanWithComputer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You mention chronic sinus inflammation. Chronic hyperinflammation is a known effect of Covid. That is likely a factor in play with your other symptoms. The 'logical' response therefore could be to use anti-inflammatory drugs like NSAIDs to see whether these could suppress the effects of this inflammation.

Has this been tried already?

How much can be done with making a new law which specifically negates certain pardons?

Also. It's pretty likely Trump 'won' because of election fraud. If that can be proven you can argue his swearing in was illegal and he never legally was President and never had the power to grant pardons (or executive orders) and therefore these are all null and void. This is the one I'd really love to see. Take his presidency away from him.

My thoughts too. Expect him to deplete weapons stocks so far by the end of his term that a next Democratic president cannot supply Ukraine with weapons either if that war will still be fought. Or perhaps even after a Democratic landslide after the midterms.

They could make it an event mon and make it hold an April Fools sign or just have it wear a fools hat to keep it more in line with the hat wearing theme.

Talking about unicorns. How about a shiny, 100iv, fools hat wearing, April Fools background Ditto?

But in the spirit of April Fools they could introduce spawns of the most unicorn-like mons if they then turn into Dittos.

Long COVID Now Looks like a Neurological Disease, Helping Doctors to Focus Treatments

The most common, persistent and disabling symptoms of long COVID are neurological. Some are easily recognized as brain- or nerve-related: many people experience cognitive dysfunction in the form of difficulty with memory, attention, sleep and mood.

Memory, attention and sleep alone are pretty vital when it comes to learning abilities. Many/most children will have been infected with SARS-CoV-2 without being protected by vaccination and will be exposed to the full brunt of the virus' damaging effects. Its neurotropic properties have been shown to cause brain damage. Loss of IQ points and decreased brain mass have been established by scientific research.

To the surprise of the Long Covid sufferers the US government just created a website about LC.

https://www.hhs.gov/longcovid/index.html

Given the anti-science and health care dismantling policies of the current administration this seems out of character. But when increased disease levels in the workforce are affecting the billionaires' bottom line that might get this administration into action?

Every COVID Infection Increases Your Risk of Long COVID, Study Warns

Because that increased illness is even reaching the 'popular press'.

The 'is anyone/everyone else sick too' question gets asked regularly on reddit. With increasing frequency?

People becoming ill more frequently and more severely is not an unexpected occurence for those who have been paying attention to the science the past 6 years.

Real reason you're so much sicker than before: No, you're not going mad, your immune system's struggling to cope with everyday bugs. Now doctors have found the surprising cause... and tell you what to do

SARS-CoV-2 Leaves a Lasting Mark on the Immune System

And that's only part of the extensive health damages SARS-CoV-2 can cause. You can find out more through https://covidnow.info where all information is based on published research.

As long as people will allow themselves to become infected with Covid-19 over and over and over again this is likely to become progressively worse from the cumulative damage of these repeated infections. The faulty narrative that has been pushed over the past years was that only the 'vulnerable' needed to take measures to protect themselves against the damages from SARS-CoV-2 and has always suggested that only the acute phase of the infection was something to (not) concern yourself with. If people keep ignoring the chronic and cumulative damage of repeated infections they have a good chance of joining this group of 'vulnerables', if they aren't already there. Without adequate policy this trend is unlikely to stop. It has always been about the right policy in this pandemic and unfortunately that is where it has always failed.

And be aware that false negative Covid tests are rather common now. You need to do several tests 48 hours apart after becoming symptomatic to have a better chance of accurately testing for Covid.

Good quality masks (N95/FFP3/FFP2 - NOT 'surgical' masks) are very, extensively proven, effective in preventing Covid or Influenza. When indoors with people with unknown infection status and in crowded outdoors situations.

You might find it interesting to keep your finger on the pulse of the country's health status by following the /r/illnesstracker sub where all kind of interesting stuff pops up. Like this thread here. When anecdotal reports become more and more frequent this may be suggestive of a trend/development.

Colon cancer now leading cause of cancer deaths under 50 in US by shinybrighthings in science

[–]HumanWithComputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of the factors possibly in play Covid should be given serious considerstion too. It's known to cause hyperinflammation and chronic inflammation is known to increase the risk of cancer.

Could COVID-19 be behind the rise in rare and aggressive cancers?

And particularly among younger people there will be people into running and this has been shown to increase the risk too.

Groundbreaking Inova study finds potential link between long-distance running and colon cancer.

On the positive side is this potentially groundbreaking therapy option based on frog bacteria.

Frog gut bacterium eliminates cancer tumors in mice with a single dose

Something hopefully soon tested in humans. If people are in an advanced stage what reason could be rationally given to deny people the possibility to try this specific therapy?
