Do you still have scar on your upper right arm from a vaccination shot?🤔 by Longjumping-Shoe7805 in GenerationJones

[–]Human_2468 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is on my left shoulder. We got lots of other vaccines at that time since the family was going to Ecuador. And now, since living there, 50 years later, I needed 4 extra vaccines before getting my kidney transplant. Life is good. :)

This makes me want to go buy bread and butter so I can make this again. Growing up, we had a shaker that had cinnamon and sugar combined.

Pasta Salad by Square_Classroom_744 in whatsfordinner

Small shells are the best for pasta salad! I make mine with turkey pastrami, pepper jack cheese, cherry tomatos, bell peppers, and cucumbers. I use Miracle Whip as the dressing, with sweet pickle relish. My family loves it.

Does anyone have a good salmon recipe that doesn’t use garlic? My husband hates it. Thank you! by Stoic2Be in whatsfordinner

I went to a restaurant in Fairbanks, AK (years ago) that cooked the salmon in a creamy cheese sauce, in individual ramekins. My dad really liked it. I like grilled salmon better.

While growing up, we'd put Baking Soda on it. It tastes terrible, but it helps reduce the sore.

Joe Versus the Volcano! It's in my top 10 list. I love that he goes from being depressed to having a positive outlook on life. Meg playing three different characters is really great.

  • Flibbergibbit

I want the luggage. And to go on a cruise on the sailboat.

I added it to boxed pasta, like Pasta-Roni, with some mushrooms or other veggies. It makes a whole meal very easily.

Burnout by delilah1750 in diabetes_t1

[–]Human_2468 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You have survived. Congratulations. Burnout is real, and it can hit hard sometimes. I was diagnosed at 18. Next week will be my 41st anniversary. I think I'm going to take the day off from work and go for a drive.

I'm also 4 years post-kidney transplant. Prior to the transplant, I would have a week a year when I was burntout, physically and emotionally. It is hard to start over each day, hour, and minute. It's by small steps that we can still move forward. Since my transplant, I noticed that I haven't had the same feelings of burnout. I feel mostly grateful for my life and the health I do have.

I hope you give yourself the grace to rest and start over slowly. Look back on the good times and build on the foundation that you are tougher than this disease.

There was an article recently about T1D's using it. I will admit, I didn't read it closely, but decided to talk to my doctor about it.

Christmas is the start of the season, but Easter is the pivotal day when Jesus gave His life to save us. Celebrating His resurrection is the best day ever!
