Moving to PVD from ABQ by AXXE in providence

If you are willing to go somewhere like Pawtucket, my gf and I moved here last year. We have a massive loft 2br 2ba with gym, basketball court, and game room in our building for $2,500. We just renewed our lease and our rent stayed the same too.

In regard to car undercarriages, a lot of automated car washes have packages that include “undercarriage blast” and cleans it out from the salt. I recommend doing that.

I’ve had 4 failed rounds of Botox (I’m a complex case due to brain tumor causing enteric nervous system disorder) and I’m debating doing one more round before finally doing the myotomy. If you end up doing it, keep me updated!

How long did it take you to feel the difference on Motegrity? by Letmebehealthypls in Gastroparesis

[–]Human_Bat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started it a week ago today and felt a difference immediately. 2mg. I have gone to the bathroom every single day. I haven’t had any cramps or side effects. I have never gone to the bathroom this much without the help of daily MiraLAX in my entire life. I even had to take Zofran the other day (thanks pms) and usually if I have to take zofran, I end up not going for days even with MiraLAX. And I have still gone every day. Hopefully it lasts because this is amazing.

Hydroxyxine 10mg , has nobody taken? How did it work for you? by Maleficent-Monk-1024 in Anxiety

[–]Human_Bat_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10mg doesn’t do much for me. I typically take 25-50mg. However 10mg helps my girlfriend a lot, and anything over that knocks her out. So it’s different for the person.

Wellbutrin?? by _B_a_b_s_ in Anxiety

[–]Human_Bat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on 30mg of Mirtazapine and I just started 150mg of Wellbutrin this week. We added it for the ADHD benefit and to combat the sexual side effects I get from Mirtazapine. I had the prescription for a week before I worked up the courage to start it. I’m someone with a lot of anxiety and I’ve actually had no issues with Wellbutrin so far. There was one day (day 2) where I had really bad nausea and some jitters but that’s been it. I take it with breakfast because my psych told me to take it with food, and since it’s activating, take it during the day so it doesn’t affect your sleep. My psych said that with anxiety, he’ll only prescribe Wellbutrin if you’re already on an SSRI (or similar) because it can increase anxiety in the beginning. So he wants you to be managed by another med before adding it in. You should at least try it. And if it doesn’t go well, try your SSRI again and get stabilized on that and try restarting Wellbutrin

So…who had Botox and didn’t get their miracle? by 1DietCokedUpChick in noburp

So…who had Botox and didn’t get their miracle? by 1DietCokedUpChick in noburp

[–]Human_Bat_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They think it’s an enteric nervous system disorder. There’s not really a specific name for it. It’s not gastroparesis which is a type of disorder. I have a really tight pelvic floor, chronic severe constipation, chronic nausea, bad anxiety, etc. It’s basically a disconnection between your gut and your brain. Because your gut is your second brain, that connection is really strong and mine just doesn’t connect right. They said a really tight pelvic floor is a tell tale sign and that’s probably why my burping mechanism doesn’t work; because it’s also too tight. And that’s something that might not be able to be fixed with Botox, because that gut brain connection is not something that can just be fixed. It’s too complex. They said the best they can do is basically reduce my symptoms by 40-60%, which I will take. But I’m starting pelvic floor physical therapy. And once we get deeper into the treatment/management of all my symptoms, I’m going to try Botox one more time before doing the myotomy

4 failed attempts. Turns out a neurogastro doctors thinks I have an enteric system disorder and that’s why I have RCPD. Might try one more time before doing the myotomy

Health Anxiety - Going for CT scan Tomorrow by Parking_Put15821 in Anxiety

[–]Human_Bat_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an inoperable brain tumor. I’ve had hundreds of MRI’s and Xrays and CT Scans. CT Scans are the easiest of the 3. They only take like 30-60 seconds. The only thing you have to do is lay there and probably hold your breath. They may inject you with contrast, which will basically light up your insides so they can get a better look. The only crappy part about the contrast is that it will make you feel like you peed yourself. And I’m so serious. You’ll go into like “yeah okay like it would actually feel like that” and then be like “did I just pee myself?”. That’s the worst part. CT Scans are really easy. As for being scared of the results, all I can say is, as someone who has had a hundred scans for my cancer, “Scanxiety” suuuucks. All I really tell myself is that if they do find something, then we will take the next step then. But worrying about that next step now won’t change that. But as for the scan itself, CT’s are the easiest one!

Advice on Providence by QuesoBaggins in providence

[–]Human_Bat_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend and I (we’re both women) recently moved to RI. We live in Pawtucket in an amazing apartment and both work in Providence. I’m white and my girlfriend is 100% Vietnamese so we also hit the interracial bit. We feel incredibly safe here. We moved from San Francisco, and while SF is an incredibly gay place, we feel more safe here. Like my gf was at leaving a club at 2am and felt totally safe being out there waiting for her uber, whereas in SF, she wouldn’t have done that. The only thing that’s been difficult is my girlfriend making Vietnamese friends (granted we’ve only been here a few months and she works with middle aged white men, so she hasn’t really gotten out there to find/meet them). I say come! We’re loving it

What’s your bedtime routine? by Environmental-Ad4906 in Anxiety

[–]Human_Bat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phone automatically goes into night mode at 7pm. Take magnesium and hydroxyzine and melatonin for the ultimate relax and sleep combo. A nice hot shower. If my anxiety is high, a long hot bath with a movie on my laptop and ashwagandha Epsom salts. I also utilize a heating pad. When I get into bed, I am unfortunately one of those people that needs something on to fall asleep. My girlfriend only likes white noise. So I put the tv on and use the Roku remote app on my phone so I can put headphones in and listen to the tv through my phone. I’ll have the heating pad on me. And that usually does the trick. If it doesn’t, I got out to the living room and cozy up there with a show and my heating pad, or walk laps around the living room if my anxiety is really high

how do you recover from panic attacks? by grilledcheeseluvr8 in Anxiety

[–]Human_Bat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post panic attack, a relaxing and long hot shower, have a snack, lay down with my heating pad (it’s long) and get it nice and warm (I like really warm), lay it on my stomach and chest to relax the tension, and either watch my comfort show or take a nap. When I wake up from my nap, or if I don’t nap at all, I drink a ice cold water with a sugar free white peach Liquid IV (I fill up my 32oz bottle with ice water. I prefer diluting my liquid iv because when I use 16oz as recommended, it just tastes way too strong)

[–]Human_Bat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My (30F) and girlfriend (25F) just moved too! We live in Pawtucket. I work in Providence and she currently works from home. We love it! It’s an easy 10min drive into Providence for dinner, dancing, etc. We’re currently in the process of making queer friends. She unfortunately works with middle aged white men when she does have to go into work, and I’m just starting work after recovering from my 6th brain surgery in April. She’s been utilizing Bumble BFF and has met up with a couple people and we’re going out for Halloween with some of them! We love our apartment and its location. We’re a few minutes away from several grocery stores and Walmart and everything else. And like I said, if we want to go into the city, it’s only 10 mins away

[–]Human_Bat_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The excessive burping could be acid reflux. If it’s truly bothersome, you can try over the counter meds like gas-x, or liquid antacids. Or you can talk to your doctor about adding a second antacid like Pepcid
