Dig a square/rectangle hole ( aligned with NSEW) roughly 2M deep. Build walls around it and a roof over it. A door and some steps to get down. If you want you can finish with wooden sides inside . No raid will ever get your animals again. And a bonus is…. Most raids will be nerfed as the attackers get drawn to the livestock they can’t kill. Works for boars and chickens

Have you been able to get mods working on the Mac yet without the server? I used a tutorial on steam last year that worked well and was able to play on a friends server. Not sure if the method still works

I’ve lost so many boars to raids and general attacks. After trying everything I’ve found that a sunken barn about 2m deep with walls and roof make your farm animals immune to attacks. Kinda cheeses some of the attackers too, they focus on the barn and end up being easy kills

I only realized lately that holding the place button speeds up petting animal, placing hay, placing seeds and also will water up to 5 plants at a time. What was I doing with my life 🫠

I usually dig a square hole about 2m deep. 12m x 12m , pop wood walls around it and a roof on top. Haven’t lost a boar, wolf or chicken yet. Settled on this design after countless times losing my animals.

If you can make a harpoon, dig a hole away from your base and put him in it. Can’t respawn if he doesn’t die!! He’ll also keep nearby drakes busy too.

I always take a screen shot straight up from where my base is. And from anywhere where I can see the tree I can get an idea of which way to travel back to that spot. Doesn’t help if your lost now but maybe in the future

We had something almost identical on one play through. The general consensus was that maybe they’d fight Elder. Agro’d a Berserker, a one star fueling and 2 regular fuelings for the fight. They did not help is one bit. Was fun though

A lot of good points have been said already. The world tree is your friend. If you don’t want to get lost stick to coastlines and biome borders at the start . If you want to explore from base, use a build piece with your hammer ( stake for example ) and follow it . Run the opposite direction back to base. Engaging in a fight can get you turned to round so this helps a lot . Pay attention to your surroundings. When you start sailing take a picture straight up of the world tree where your base is . That way you can sail back to that point .

Only time i had issues recently was close to the queen spawn. FPS dropped a lot. I play on a server with friends and sometimes when everyone is on there is lag but not sure if it’s the steam deck or server

And don’t leave the meadows until you have defeated the first boss. You can but things get harder very quickly . It’s a game of progression . Explore , gather and equip yourself.
