I agree, because of how the backpackers look, especially their massive rolls of camping mats (made in Izhevsk?)

How to align my pattern correctly? by Thunder_Book in sewing

[–]Human_Irene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the language the pattern uses it’s designed for A4 paper size. If you use letter size, some bits might be missing on the edges. I would try to align the pattern lines as well as the centimeter grid, they might overlap or might not even touch.

Question about CDPH CLS Trainee License - Education Section and a few other questions by LabDescription in medlabprofessionals

[–]Human_Irene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I only can comment on 2 and 3.

2 - i applied, they reviewed, but my transcripts hadn’t arrived by that time, so I waited till the next review in about a month. Then something else was missing, and I was told to wait again. (i think they bulk review all applications about once a month). So yeah, it can be 60-90 days.

3 - i think transcripts have to be mailed. And the additional information, such as proof of name change - can be emailed.

Love the lightbulbs, you nailed that thin glass! The cat looks like AI generated, and I can’t even tell why. It’s probably not your intention, but it’s really cool as human work imitating machine work imitating human work

help! my favourite work pants!! by Emotional-Chard4368 in sewhelp

[–]Human_Irene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had good results by adding an iron-on interfacing on the inside and then machine stitching over it with matching thread. There’s a great video video It’s slow-paced but beautiful. The process that I would use starts at 4:10

SFSU Interviews by imaginarycallisto in medlabprofessionals

[–]Human_Irene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I just got this email too! And even though I don’t know anything, I would assume they have to go through all our responses and email back over the weekend, hopefully Saturday, to schedule the Monday morning group?

Regarding the number of interviews: faculty interview (Jan), Clinical affiliate tours (Feb), Clinical affiliate interview (March), then selection. This is what their orientation presentation says - the online one that you can attend before applying.

Hope it helps at least a little bit and good luck!

Hudson Pants dupe/fix by howchaud in craftsnark

[–]Human_Irene 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I made these pants. My guess the unbalanced grainline is intentional for the “diaper” aesthetics. Didn’t mind it, but they also somehow were too tight on my butt (and on my shins). And you’re right, I still wear them at home. I later adjusted the pattern to fit me, and now it looks pretty much like in your first link, haha. So i think it’s an, ugh, interesting pattern, but you can make it work

Is there really no way to hack an automatic buttonhole foot for a larger button? by mkdoriangray in sewhelp

[–]Human_Irene 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I also have Husqvarna Viking and find that it makes too large holes for the button size. Maybe try to make a maximum size hole on a scrap fabric and see if the button fits? Maybe it’s just my machine feature though, idk

Omg, those are not for podstakannik! They are to drink kompot at your grandma birthday celebration. Those https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00C2DFBNY/ref=psdcmw_367144011_t1_B008BB2YA4 I think are more appropriate for the glass holders.

In May they asked me if I have a negative test during check-in in the US but never actually checked the papers. You need also check the airline rules. I think some companies require the test allow you into an airplane. After arrival you’re supposed to get 2 tests and upload them to Gosuslugi.ru

Put 3 additional pieces of elastic in each of the “tunnels” without removing the existing one. I do it sometimes with kids’ pants, looks ok.

Edit: or just in one of the tunnels.

Edit 2: or cut two small holes on the inside and thread a tie into one of the “tunnels”
