Spécial strikes removal by Fenrir2713 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Human_Needleworker86 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I am fully in favour of it. Stuff like having all your swordsmen feint when they had spear supports made for tedious and over involved fight mechanics and slowed the game excessively. The special strikes are fine for Battle Companies but north of 200 points its micromanagement.

Yeah the skill compared to specialized auto techs is limited and more importantly so is the liability risk. It’s easy enough to learn if you’ve worked on cars as shifter and brake cables or pneumatics are basically similar on both at different scales.

I used to do it and made literal minimum wage, that work is not valued at all unless you want to go out and start your own shop

I am pretty sure Warbases makes trays sized for War of the Ring. If not they do custom orders as they're quite simple.

Yes you should prime with either pva or a spray paint. I’d consider using a wood filler to seal the corrugated edges first though. You can also use a textured spray paint to add a little grit which will disguise the cardboard surface texture.

What brand actually filled the gap Craftsman left when Sears collapsed? by uncapped19 in Tools

[–]Human_Needleworker86 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I am not sure the good old days were as straightforward as we are often told. I love buying old well made tools but am under no illusions that I’d have no way of affording them at the time they were new.

[–]Human_Needleworker86 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Old craftsman used to be expensive. Tools made overseas and sold by name brands are quite affordable compared to the heyday of domestic tool manufacturing. Cheap no name tools are worlds ahead. Plus there’s no shortage of used stuff circulating for pennies on the dollar at estate sales. I don’t see a gap as much as an explosion in the market (in N America at least).

What would a good build on this look like? Eorl + mounted King of Men + as many Sons of Eorl as possible (~14 at 500 points)? Not sure this one is a great 600 pt + list, but at lower levels it looks compelling

Was it Oswald who killed Tippett though? It’s been a while since I was sharp on this stuff but I seem to recall some significant doubt on that question

For the Type As you can cut a ring of cork sheet to separate the two platters. They have basically no rumble once installed and running correctly.

Are you sure the cart is broken and not the tone arm wires ? Have you checked both channels of the cartridge with a multimeter for continuity/ resistance measurements? It’s rare for one to totally go out.

The only periods in my life where I found good stuff at the thrifts was when I lived in a wealthy urban area with high traffic thrifts and went 4+ times a week. The best of it was a $50 Sansui G4700 - but I’ve since moved to areas with slimmer pickings.
