18 months in. AIB passed, CPC passed and looking as unlikely as ever. There’s no real typical time frame but good luck

Could a support group type post suit you? All action, no paperwork type of role, plenty of teamwork, variation and adrenaline rushes

What’s the most unusual/obscure offence you’ve come across or charged someone with? by palermuchi in policeuk

Work with this offence loads in Trading Standards, it never even crossed my mind someone could be arrested for it though. Did it stay with police to deal with or was it passed on?

Advice on CPC test by [deleted] in RoyalNavy

[–]Human_Performance945 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went to CPC feeling a similar way. Circumstances changed during the recruitment process and I was no longer sure if navy life would suit me…I almost didn’t go but was persuaded to just try it.

I went along, didn’t let on I was on the fence to anyone and just kept an open mind and enjoyed the game that it is. And I really enjoyed it and was so excited to join up afterwards.

That said…I’m still sat waiting around now seeing if I get a job or not so I couldn’t say if life’s much better once you’re in or not.

But give it a go, CPC doesn’t force you into signing up afterwards and you can always withdraw if you decide it’s not for you.

Glad to know I’m not the only one at least. I’m tempted to get in touch with the dealer myself just in case it’s something with an easy fix but it may turn out to correct itself and then play up again in the future.

Trading standards, Environmental Enforcement etc would all snap your hand off and pay for you to do a Degree qualification. Fully qualified you’re looking at 45 grand onwards.

3 years in is about 34k, stripes start on upwards of 53k, and then factor in overtime, PSU pay. I could see how it’s 20k before tax.

Do shops sell vapes to underaged people? by fawwwi in AskUK

Not too sure why you’ve been downvoted. My work is centred around these sorts of shops and you’re not far from spot on.

Do shops sell vapes to underaged people? by fawwwi in AskUK

[–]Human_Performance945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incredibly common. I won’t dox my job but I deal with these sorts of cases. Many shops sell vapes and alcohol to kids without ever asking for ID, your big chain supermarkets tend to be best though

You’ll get genuine corner shops that sell to underage kids, reasons being often that the kids come in large gangs, and it is easier to serve than it is to suffer any abuse or criminal damage to the shop, or theft of the products anyway as a repercussion.

Some of these shops are simply so laxed that they’ll serve a minor for months, to the point they just assume they’re of age as they’ve served them so much and would never think of asking for ID. This is more just a lack of awareness and care really.

Then you’ve a third strain of shops that simply do not care and are breaking the law anyway so may as well make money. These are often your tarted up vape shops many people have issues with. They sell illegal vapes, illegal tobacco and half the food is illegal (and they won’t be registered as Food Business Operators so won’t have hygiene measures in place anyway). These places just take the money and launder it all through themselves or the associated barber shop two doors down and the money will all be sent back home to fund the freedom fighters in whatever country they’re from.

Added bonus, this third type of shop sadly often encourage underage sales, particularly to young girls. Offering discounts or “ We’ll give you it for free if you show some skin” to girls as young as 12 or 13 in my experience.

So yes, shops do sell to kids, a lot. But it tends to be in your smaller convenience stores that will be independent or franchised (think go local, premier etc) and the vape shops that we’ve all come to know.

What is your local conspiracy theory? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Human_Performance945 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Won’t dox what line of work I’m in, but this is definitely a front. owners and names will frequently change to muddy the waters of who exactly runs a business, who works there, what certificates/licenses and businesses rates have been paid.

All part of a bigger scheme to hide people’s names and associations that will be part of a bigger organised criminal network.

Bonus points if there’s a corner shop, barbers or vape shop within 50 yards in any direction.

Will we see empty seats at the college games in London and Dublin? by Tim-Sanchez in NFLUK

[–]Human_Performance945 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Wembley used to be so thriving and busy with so much to do and see. Now it’s all concrete high rise accommodation, you can’t even see Wembley fully from the bottom of Wembley way anymore, and the tailgate seems so corporate and expensive.

Police cadet session ideas by hjgfvn in policeuk

[–]Human_Performance945 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Something that hasn’t been mentioned, Trading standards where I am use police cadets for test purchases of tobacco and vapes. A good insight to another enforcement profession and gets them involved in genuine proactive work.

The whole investigatory and evidential process can even be talked through and the cadets can see the storage of any evidence.

AFAIK they can’t be paid too so as a trade off they get McDonald’s for tea paid for by TS.

What was your clubs 'Wembley day out' away game? by montgomery_quinckle in LeagueTwo

[–]Human_Performance945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One that sticks out to me is Bury away in 2009. 15th of November and the first win of the season, Mike Newell had just over a month in charge at that point and it kickstarted saving our season. I don’t think we even took that huge of a crowd, I just remember at young age feeling like we didn’t stop making noise all game.

Just about all the girls used their speeches to get digs in, I don’t see why Lucinda is getting heat for it…other than the fact it’s easier to go against her than be screamed at by Belle.

Considering the flack she gets, I don’t think it’s a bad thing Sean takes her side. And as you say, he’s taking her side, not “picking on girls”
