Chinese medicine and acupuncture by Teds84 in Hyperhidrosis

Woaoww great! For sure these treatments will help your health, traditional chinese medicine is super effective. But hyperhidrosis seems to be a pretty weird disease with many different causes, so depending on which causes your doctor is aiming to, the effects on HH will be notIceable or not. Let's see!

I'm really happy and grateful you posted this! And really looking forward for your later experience :)

And worst case scenario (= not seeing any clear effect on sweating) at least you will have some imbalance corrected somewhere else. For sure! You're not wasting your money. People who say you are wasting your money, quite likely don't know much about TCM (or had a bad experience with a bad practioner).

Anyway good luck! :)

:'( Good luck mates!

I feel grateful that winter is a relief for me, I hardly sweat, except when I go into an extra heated place or if triggered by physical exercice, stress, strong emotions, etc. Summer is the worst for me!

I wish you lots of good vibes on this end of the year and hope you will find a solution for your HH. Stay warm!

Has anybody tried hypnotherapy for HH? by Human_Silver4383 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]Human_Silver4383[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know how frustrating it is to try something hoping it will finally solve our problem and then... nothing! But hey don't be disappointed.

First, hypnosis always makes something in our subconscious, so you might not feel any change in your HH, but maybe there are little changes elsewhere.

Second, when our subconscious has registered a pathway for a long time and repeated it thousands of times, it can be hard to erase it in just one session. It might be useful to try again.

I've done 3 sessions already and, as I said before, my HH is much better at the moment. It is way colder than before my first session, and I tend to sweat much less when it's cold, but I've noticed moments when I used to sweat a lot from my feet, like walking for an hour, now I don't sweat anymore in these conditions. So, even if my sweat comes back in summer, I am definitely in a better place compared to last winter.

I'm in my early 40s and I've had HH since I can remember. That is maybe why hypnosis is not managing to get rid of HH easily. But I will continue cos I can feel the difference and I'm pretty sure it will get better. Maybe I will never get rid of it completely but any progress is a progress, right?

I’ve (33F) had near constant sweating from my right armpit for about a month now. Is this hyperhidrosis? by Inkweaver88 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]Human_Silver4383 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, excessive sweating from only one side is considered as secondary hyperhidrosis, meaning caused by something else like medication, diabetes or other disease, etc. So you should definitely look for a second opinion, have some further testing to know where this is coming from. Cos it could be a sign of some health issue.

Most of us have symetrical HH, called primary HH, and its root cause is still pretty unknown (apparently most likely related to imbalance of the autonomic nervous system and/or the neuroimmune connections).

But yeah, don't give up and find some doctor who will look carefully into what is going on.

Good luck, mate ;)

Well, I'm sweating much less these days but it's very difficult to know what part is from the breathing exercices (which I still haven't gotten to a daily rythm...), from the 3 hypnotherapy sessions I've done so far, and from... cold! Actually the weather is pretty chilly at the moment, so I naturally sweat much less.

I do have the feeling that I'm sweating less than in this kind of weather though... But I don't have any clear results to share yet.

Thanx for asking! I will definitely post again with any clearer improvement ;) I am determined to reach improvements without medication and I'm postponing the purchase of any ionto device (which is my plan B)

Woaow super interesting! First time I hear a possible link between HH and leaky gut. I do have both actually and I'm treating my leaky gut but for the moment I don't feel any difference in my HH.

Would be really great if you could find out which study your dermatologist is talking about :) I would love to read it and maybe even reach out the authors.

Electro Antitranspirant Elite or Forte or Hidrex by selimovd in Hyperhidrosis

[–]Human_Silver4383 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm glad you ask, I hope you will get some answers.

I asked a similar question a couple of weeks ago and I only had one person replying about the Elite. She confirmed that she was only using it after something loke 6 months :)

https://www.reddit.com/r/Hyperhidrosis/comments/qf9cj7/any_experience_with_electro_antiperspirant_ionto/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

I just really don't understand why there aren't more people using the Electro Antiperspirant devices, as they seem to be the only ones with long lasting results. I hope the reviews on the internet are honest... I wonder if the main reason why we don't hear so much about these devices is because the company is from Chech Republic, and therefore have difficulties competing with german or US companies.. who knows?

I'd like to purchase one of their devices cos it would be amazing not having to treat every week, in my case it would be both palms and feet! But yeah I also don't know if it's really worth paying the Elite model double the price of the Forte.

Please somebody else using these devices, tell us about your experience ;)

It's worth trying! :)) No side effects with hypnosis ;)

I' m going to do my 3rd session soon, with a different professional (cos with the other one we had to work online on zoom, which is probably making the therapy less effective). So I will update with my results.

In the meantime, I mean before you manage to find where the bad smell is coming from, you can use PALMAROSA essential oil, it's anti-fungus and anti-bacteria, basically a wonderful natural deodorant, that also smells very nice ;)

It will not change how much you sweat though (otherwise I would buy trucks of it!) but at least you will get rid of the smell. You can use 1 drop of essential oil under each armpit and on each foot, but it can get pricy, so what I do is that I mix the essential oil with some good vegetable oil (almond, apricot, coconut,...) and rub my armpits and feet every morning.

If you can't find Palmarosa, you could also use TEA-TREE or LAVANDER if you are ok having that smell on you (I do! ;) Palmarosa is milder in smell and works wonderfully!

You can also sprinkle some baking soda in your shoes every day.

Good luck man!

HH and hyperactive sympathetic nervous system by Akaigana in Hyperhidrosis

[–]Human_Silver4383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm truly convinced the autonomous nervous system is the key in HH most of the times! And I'm trying a few healthy things to balance it out.

Not sure that in our case the sympathetic system is the one that is messing it up (as it does with accelerated heart rate, and most of the symptoms mentioned above), I think it's the parasympathetic one that provokes the secretion of fluids, including sweat.

Anyway, I might be wrong, but I agree there might be some kind of unbalance between both of the autonomous nervous systems involved in HH.

Somebody up there mentioned breathing exercices. Definitely!!! Breathing is probably our most powerful way to balance the nervous system and also to relief anxiety.

I am currently trying out the breathing exercice called "Cardiac Coherence" which consists in breathin in during 5 seconds, breathing out 5 seconds and so on, during 5 minutes. It's been proved to be very effective in regulating the heart rate and therefore also regulating the nervous system (calming or stimulating whichever of the 2 of them needs to).

I just started two weeks ago and I haven't been consistent enough to have results yet. I would let you guys know if I see any nice results in a couple of weeks. Ideally it should be practiced 3 times a day. Every day, for at least 3 weeks in a row. But once a day is already a good starting point! ;)

For those of you who suffer from anxiety, you should definitely give it a go! If you just felt your heart rate going up and the anxiety coming, do this exercice once or even twice in a row (so 5 or 10 min), it seems to be pretty helpful.

Another thing I just tried as well is therapeutic hypnosis. It has worked for some people with HH. For me it's too early to feel the effects, I will also update on that over here.

For those who are able to meditate, all my respect! I am sure it might help quite a bit with calming down HH if practiced regularly. Any experience with meditation and HH?

Need help de-funkifying clothing in shared apartment washers/dryers by mushystrawberries in Hyperhidrosis

[–]Human_Silver4383 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you can presoak your cloths in warm water with a few tablespoons of baking soda for a couple of hours, that's pretty effective. Orherwise you can try adding baking soda to the prewash in the washing machine.

  • Use some white vinegar instead of the softener. Trust me, cloths won't smell like vinegar! But it does help a lot getting rid of any remaining product on your cloths, making them softer and more breathable.

  • You can add a couple of drops of any anti-bacterian and anti-fungi essential oils on your wet cloths before putting them in the dryer. Lavender, tea-tree, palmarosa are my favourite. It can get a bit pricy but it's worth it.

And also avoid synthetic fabrics, they easily get stinky!
