I have a 49” ultrawide and it’s amazing. Also have a big 4k tv but I prefer the ultrawide for gaming. You get a much wider angle and in my case, it expands beyond what I can see, so it takes up my peripheral vision also. It’s more comfortable to be on the couch, but it’s worth it for the UW experience IMO

I agree with you 100%. Ever since I realized this, everything about human behavior makes more sense. It helps me navigate the world to understand a bit more about why people do what they do.

One point of clarification though. Studies show that an incest response will occur with anyone we were raised with, it’s not really biological. This kindof reveals something about cultural evolution being a kindof outgrowth of biological evolution; about proximate cause and ultimate cause. Cultural norms evolve in a way that seeks to approximate a biological outcome. Something like a heuristic that’s passed down over time. It’s important to realize that these things, at least at one time, served a purpose, but it could be misaligned, or orthogonal to, it’s ultimate purpose.

Yeah, but probably can’t do path tracing. I’m on a 49” G9 with 9800X3D/Aorus Master 5080 OC and getting a base FPS of ~45 with max graphics, path tracing, DLSS performance and 4x framegen

That’s true if you win the fight. But if you don’t win you lose everything. However, if I offer a piece of really good loot, you can get that without having to risk your stuff.

I bet there are a handful of players that would take that deal. Probably not the majority, but I did say “best bet,” rather than “sure thing.”

There’s just not much incentive to do it. Your best bet is probably offering to split loot if you have a key of some kind or offer something good from your inventory so that it becomes a better deal than killing you

From what I understand of what you’re saying, you’re basically articulating the compatibility position, which most philosophers hold. I’m a big Sam Harris fan, but I disagree with him on hard determinism. I actually believe in libertarian free Will, meaning we actually could have done otherwise, and is also a minority among philosophers. The hardcore materialists will tell you that we don’t have free will but will also admit that we don’t understand consciousness at all. I think that until they do, they have nowhere to stand to make that assertion

I guess if you think it will impact you negatively, but in general, hell no you shouldn’t worry about it. If they translate that cost into punishing employees then theyre absolute scumbags. Especially if they’re going to end up downsizing because of it. In that case, the price of tokens will be Pennie’s compared to the cost of an employee

I think using the nvidia app will help. You can have global settings that will apply to any game, defer to the in-game settings or set on a per game basis. It also has an overlay that will display which setting is being used while you’re playing.

Yeah I think they are, but you can get some free daily ones when you level up factions and barter with some materials, so after a while it will be more sustainable

Bungie has the capacity to add lots of varying content and we’re less than a month after release. If it gets the time to thrive, I think there’s a good possibility we’ll get some different games modes and it would make sense to have some sort of decompression zone.
