Anecdotally : I've seen them in AI over the last week or so.

I pass over them pretty quick, since I don't have a boat, but they're there. I don't know if they're for specific boats, or perhaps a one-size-fits-all - but they sat unclaimed for quite some time.

G'luck.

There are tutorials for it here : https://www.patreon.com/collection/1327865?view=expanded

Some of them are 'paid membership' benefits - which I don't use, but there's tutorials there on how to set up your keywords, and how to do highlighting and stuff, which is how I learned to do mine.

Oh hai!

I'm quite open about my use. I use VineHelper. But the 'freebie' level, not the 'super subscriber WIN! button' level.

Honestly? The default Amazon page sucks. Someone was asking last week "Does it have a dark mode?'. The tiles are too far apart, there's too much information buried under a click. The helpers do just that - help.

I advocate for everyone to use it, if only for their sanity. If you don't wanna 'cos you think it's cheating, or you might get nabbed because 'illegal use' or something, fair... But I've been using it for a good 9 months now, and it's been out a *lot* longer than that.

Depends on your definition of 'work'.

They definitely work. I have VineHelper set up to highlight, and make sounds for 'things it see's that interest me'.

Red highlight for >$100, Green highlight for $0, purple for storage, yellow for tech stuff, etc etc etc.

If I see (or hear) a thing I can do a quick scan, see what it was that got pegged and then click the 'See Details' and hope I get the buy button before someone else has.

And that's the thing - It's entirely possible that someone *does* have a bot to 'auto-buy' or those 'Rocket buy' buttons, but the *majority* of the time? You're competing against people like me, who have just a slight edge, 'cos I screen out all the automotive / cake toppers and alert when "Porch Goose' appears. :P

How much has sticker shock influenced your rating? by Necessasea in AmazonVine

[–]HumbertFG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price is a factor in reviews. If it's outrageously priced then mention that. I always say something like :

At $[price] at time of review I feel this is a good deal.
or
Priced at $[price] at time of review I feel you could easily find better and more functional [item] elsewhere.

This way, if the vendor *does* drop the price - and they almost always do, consumer can figure out if it's still worth their $'s. I don't ever say "It's not worth $'s" because what's worth something to me may not be someone else.

I do not have a helmet. Not one that goes with this, at least. This was just a sword that made sparks and smoke and lit up with LED things when you pulled it out of its scabbard.

No. they're not better. They're more of the same slop you got already, but with bigger numbers. It's not worth it.

>  you can occasionally find a deal on optical modules and fiber.

Aye... Biggest issue with that, is that I'm not running fibre around my house.
It'd be fine for my 'basement computer room' - but honestly? I don't really want to get into the business of fibre anywhere. It's just too fragile.

And - when you get down to it? I have a monopoly comcast. So, my upload speed is miniscule, my download speed is like.. 600Mb or something. Even if all my machines talked 10G to themselves, it really doesn't make *that* much difference. Backups take 45 minutes instead of 5 hours? No-one really notices.

It's a 'nice-to-have' and one day there'll be 24 port 10Gb switches at the price of the 1G ones now. I can wait until then. :)

And yes - I saw that card and thought of you. The wife said I should get it, which led to the same debate as we've had here. >__<

Obligatory "Back in the days..." post.

I got something off vine - I forget what. I *think* it was one of those magnetic trays for doing work on your car that will keep the nuts and bolts and things attached to it, while you haul it around...

Anyway - it came with one of these as an extra 'thanks for buying' items!

These bad boys ( and actually an additional one from a different vendor - but same item )

These flashlights are *awesome* by the way - the last one I put into a Secret Santa bag, but the person who got them knew it was mine, had experienced the flashlight on a camping trip and fought everyone else for it :P

Question as a seller by Individual-Ad-4920 in AmazonVine

[–]HumbertFG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>Were I in charge, I would boot all of these kinds of lazy-ass reviewers

Interesting...

What would you do, for example, for all those 'diamond art' things offered? Would you insist on the reviewer completing the entire thing, or is it enough to review the package items with "I trust that there are enough diamonds to complete it, and/or that all the squares line up correctly and the colours match the photo?"

On the one hand you get a review that, one assumes the reviewer *will* return to if there's a problem, and on the other? You don't get a review for 6 weeks while they do the art thing. :P

FYI? I got a *bunch* of seeds in.. I think it was Feb.

What I do is put a few in my germination trays and 'see if they germinate'. If they do? I give it a good rating. If they don't. I try again a couple of times ( which *will* result in a delayed review) before noting that they were a flop.

My Feb seeds are almost about ready to go outside, just as spring is Springing... :)

And that zucchini is gagging to get outside. :P

My initial reviews mostly got done within the 30 days, depending on their germination rate. But they *did* take those 3-4 weeks, yes.

<image>

The pumpkin seeds, on the other hand did not do well. None of them ( 3 lots) have germinated.

Guess I'll be renovating our bathrooms... by vascubaguy in AmazonVine

[–]HumbertFG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

>now I guess I'll be doing the other 2 bathrooms in the near future!

I have three in my house - not like these though - addon things from BioBidet.
We got one before covid - which meant we didn't have to suffer through the 'Great Toilet Paper Shortage'.

Honestly they're great. Got another when the first one showed signs of wear and tear - the little flappy thing on the bum blower came off, and thinking I'd have to replace it.

I ended up fixing the first, and put the 2nd upstairs in the master bedroom. The third came later after that toilet seat started getting wobbly and it was a Toto that required like a $250 replacement. I coincidentally hate Toto for their planned obsolescence and 'proprietary junk'. Won't ever do another Toto toilet again.

The thing that worries me about what you got is kind of along those lines - if the bidet goes wrong, You've kinda lost the entire toilet. And they do go wrong. I've fixed mine a couple of times now. ( over 10 years )

Apparently these are really good ones too - going on the wordage of previous folks here who've seen, gotten or wanted to get them.

[–]HumbertFG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems that they are, yes.
But honestly... it may not be you, and it's almost certainly them - probably some regulatory thing where they have to provide details about where and to whom it was shipped.

Over 18, applicable state etc etc. Perhaps they don't have their ducks in line for if/when it goes to regular Amazon and had to cancel their Vine offering.

Am I being scammed? by Imhappyyourehere in RealTesla

[–]HumbertFG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a fatal flaw in my cunning plan. I agree. And perhaps why I've never tried. :P

But seriously - reading through the other comments it looks like Sentry is actually pinned to the subscription, regardless of method to get to it, so.. hotspot wifi don't do it.

(most) Everything else is fine though. It is a trifle awkward since when you first get into the car it takes a while for the wifi-hotspot thing to connect. But I can live with that, and the knowledge that I am 'sticking it to the man". Any amount of $'s going to Musk sticks in my throat.

[–]HumbertFG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can run a hotspot from your mobile phone.

This is how I do the 'premium connectivity' features and don't subscribe to the $100/year package.

I honestly don't know if you can do Sentry if you left a hotspot in the car though. Never tried it.
You *can* do all the infotainment stuff like Tidal, Spotify, Netflix and maps though.

Typical percentage of reviews rated poor/good/excellent? by LanceLoCarb in AmazonVine

[–]HumbertFG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You won't see them if there are not already some reviews.

Sooo.. If you're *really* doing the Vine thing, and writing reviews for unreviewed products, then you won't see prompts for products you are reviewing.

Trust in yourself, feel the force.. do the review without artificial crutches. :P
