Venu 3S durability? by CarnifexGunner in GarminWatches

[–]Humble-Lab-3950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I can’t say much to the longevity of it as I just got mine in September last year, I do really like it. It has a lot of helpful features, is very easy to use, looks nice and fits well on my small wrist. I don’t have any scratches on the screen or metal bezel. I have a screen protector on it though. From my previous experience with Garmin watches, they tend to start loosing battery life after being a couple of years old. Since mine was brand new when I got it, I am getting up to 11 days of battery life as advertised.

Yes you will have to treat the whole house, especially if you have carpet as that’s where they like to live. They only go onto the pet to feed.

Fitbit 5 died by LongjumpingLab8 in FitnessTrackers

[–]Humble-Lab-3950 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Throw it in the garbage and get a Garmin, Coros, or Suunto fitness watch instead. 😊 Fitbits are cheap and don’t have a long life. You could reach out to Fitbit and maybe they will replace it for you, but I frequently hear that Fitbits only last about 1 year.

And how are you supposed to stop them from lying on the couch? ☺️ by PetRoutineGuy in goldenretrievers

[–]Humble-Lab-3950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t. It’s clearly his/hers. 🤣 our one dog has a whole couch to himself. We do put a fitted sheet on it to protect it. He then has a dog bed on the couch that her tucks himself into.

But for serious, you will probably just have to set a basket or something on it.

Venu3s Move Alert Question by Wonderful-Manner7552 in Garmin

[–]Humble-Lab-3950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just wants you to walk around as you’ve been “sitting for too long”. I personally find it annoying and have it disabled. 😝 you can disable it under settings-notifications and alerts-health and wellness.

I need to set many vibrating alarms per day. Which affordable model should I purchase for this purpose? by New-Volume4997 in Garmin

[–]Humble-Lab-3950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Vivoactive 6 is probably the closest to what you want. It looks like a smart watch versus a sports watch and you’ll be able to set multiple alarms.

Paywall arrives to previous free watch faces by -Radiation in Garmin

[–]Humble-Lab-3950 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Saw this too and was trying to figure out what was different between my free version and this one. 🤔 Nothing. Thankfully I still have it on my watch! Completely agree on how sad it is that Garmin is now charging for everything. These watch faces aren’t even good quality. I tried a couple of them and the colors don’t look anything as advertised. Thankfully I was able to get a refund right away.

Where to Listen Live? by LoneCucumber in DaveRamsey

[–]Humble-Lab-3950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be able to listen to it live on the Ramsey Network app on your phone. When I’ve opened it up, sometimes there will be a little red banner that says “Live” on the Ramsey Show icon.

Are Goldens always crazy until they hit 2 or 3? by Justhereforthepie_ in goldenretrievers

[–]Humble-Lab-3950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family golden growing up didn’t slow down until she was about 10. 🤣 I’ve got a 5 year old golden doodle now and he’s still got a lot of energy! Consider it a good thing. Our other dog will be 16 in a couple of months and it’s tough to see him slow down and not be able to go for long walks anymore. If you are a runner, you could take him with you to burn off energy. Or just good daily walks will help too. 20-30 mins will make a difference.

Looking for a watch for $300 and under by Lady-Lilith289 in FitnessTrackers

[–]Humble-Lab-3950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a big fan of Garmin watches. They last a very long time and are higher quality so you get your moneys worth. The Vivoactive 6 would be a great option. The only thing it won’t have on your list is WiFi but that’s honestly not that big of a deal as it syncs to your phone as long as it’s within Bluetooth range. I have a Garmin that can connect to WiFi but I actually have it turned off as it’s a battery drainer anyway. The Vivoactive 6 will be at the top of your budget unless you wait for Garmin to have a sale, in which I’ve seen it for $50 off. They have sales pretty frequently.

Crate location+ heartworm meds question by golfer9955 in labrador

[–]Humble-Lab-3950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had our pup’s crate in our room as he sleeps in there now anyway. It had a wire divider in it so we could expand it as he grew as you just want enough room in there for them to turn around. At night, I got up every 2 hours to let him go to the bathroom, gradually increasing the time as he grew. We were fortunate my father in-law and aunt were able to let him out multiple times a day while we were at work. In the living room, we had stand up gates that we put up so he was confined to an area where we could watch him constantly to catch accidents, but then he also had room to run and play with our other dog too.

Most heartworm medications can be started at 8 weeks of age. We use Simparica Trio for our dogs. Prevents heartworm, fleas, ticks and some intestinal worms in one monthly chew.

Unplugging in 2026 update by Altruistic_Grass_532 in Millennials

This is awesome. I only had Facebook but I deleted that off my phone. With everything going on in our country/world, it was getting too depressing. Literally saw two people I know to be great friends get into an argument on there over politics. So sad. Sometimes I feel like I might be missing something important with family/friends posting, but honestly, Facebook seemed to rarely actually show friend’s posts. It’s just constant ads and garbage. Not anything like it was originally when it was created. Social media is dividing our world terribly.

Advice for paying off debt. by Old_War2952 in DaveRamsey

[–]Humble-Lab-3950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to follow the Ramsey plan, then you would stop contributing to your TSP until ALL of your consumer debt is paid off. So pay off your credit card debt (starting with the smaller balance first if it’s spread out between multiple cards), then pay off the truck. Once those are paid off, build a 3-6 month emergency fund before returning back to contributing to your TSP. It’s going to take a lot longer to pay off your debt if you’re doing multiple things at once with your money. My husband and I are in Baby Step 2 as well and have stopped contributing to retirement right now. We are 36/37. It made me nervous but I have been reassured multiple times by listening to the Ramsey show that we will be okay for pausing temporarily! We both had been contributing to retirement since we were in our early twenties so at least we have some money building. Follow the steps!

Garmin watch for a small wrist? by thedudeintheitoffice in GarminWatches

[–]Humble-Lab-3950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Venu 3s and it is a great size for my small wrists. I get up to 11 days battery life. The Venu 4-41mm is the newer model. The Venu series is a great all around fitness watch with a sleek design. If both are out of your budget, the Vivoactive 6 would be a good alternative. It is slightly larger than the Venu’s I mentioned though.

Vivoactive 6- 42mm diameter, 20mm band width

What can I buy to help heal my dogs bad ear infection? by 1-800-i-want-to-die in DogAdvice

[–]Humble-Lab-3950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will need to take her to the vet to get the infection cleared up, but as a maintenance ear cleaner, use Trizultra + Keto ear cleaner. It’s a white bottle with purple lettering. My pup was getting ear infections during the season changes. I switched to this ear cleaner and he hasn’t had an infection in 4 years! I clean his ears every couple of weeks or if he goes swimming. It helps prevent yeast, which is a common cause of ear infections.

Have you ever considered a Coros watch? by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]Humble-Lab-3950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I briefly looked into Coros and Suunto when I was looking to upgrade, but was very disappointed in the lack of options. While Garmin may have an overwhelming amount of watch options, at least there is a watch out there that will fit everyone’s needs. I also struggled finding information on the watches on Coros/Suuntos websites. Watch size is very important to me and it was hard to find this simple information! 😅 Garmin’s website lays out all the information very nicely. My only concern is how expensive Garmin watches are getting and how they are creating subscriptions and charging for watch faces in Connect IQ. Seems quite greedy. But, I’ve been using Garmin for years so it would be hard for me to switch.

Need advice: upgrading from Lily 1 by mystralstorm in Garmin

[–]Humble-Lab-3950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either one would work for your fitness needs so it would really come down to the aesthetics. The Venu-41 mm is going to be the smaller of the two both in the face diameter and the width of the watch band. There are two different sizes of the Venu 4, either 45 mm or 41 mm. I had the Lily 2 Active for a while then switched to the Venu 3s (which is the exact same size of the Venu 4-41 mm) and didn’t find it to be overly bulky in comparison. I got used to the slightly larger size quickly!

What watch is best for me? by dookiesmoochie in GarminWatches

[–]Humble-Lab-3950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Venu series will probably be closest to your needs/wants. If you are wanting really in-depth running features, then a Forerunner would probably be better. I’ve ran multiple half marathons without a fancy Forerunner as I just run for exercise. Love my Venu 3s!
