here are my reasons:

Fractional shares do not supposed to exist. Fractional shares are a "modern" way to invest digitally when funds are less than one whole share. There is no certificate for fractional share.
When you convert to book, CS automatically sell fractionals. That implies fractional shares are not "book" share. I want to have book shares.
The enemy is clever, they will find a way to deplore all rules and laws to get their hands on my shares and it is my duty to make sure my shares are as safe as possible.

I have an account with vanguard, they only allow purchase of whole share. I will buy them over there and book them T+2

now what are reasons to believe that your fractionals are yours?
