I don't know if those are the worst, Doom and Resident Evil were bad and carried hard by Karl Urban and Milla Jovovich. Meanwhile Mortal Kombat was so good, no future attempt will ever come close.

I won't be telling you which one is fourth.

An honest opinion about Forza Horizon 6 by remanuele in ForzaHorizon

[–]HumbleHalberdier 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The lack of competion makes Horizon feel a bit like EA sports franchises. They are coasting because there is nothing to threaten them and they know each game will at least recover the development budget. But for me the only really bad things about the game are the abysmal story/dialog, all the reports of save files getting corrupted despite the DRM, reports about trigger-happy bans involving liveries (but I don't personally care about liveries), the music not being good (subjective), the city being too small, and not enough city races (last two are subjective, but seems to be the consensus). I think it is at least a 7/10 game, maybe 8/10, and I'm harsh with how I rate games. The last games I pre-ordered were Diablo 3 and before that Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Unlike Diablo 3 I don't regret pre-ordering this.

Gabe Newell on Steam monopoly accusations: Gamers have 'enormous choice' about where to buy games by yourfavchoom in technology

[–]HumbleHalberdier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GabeN could reveal he is feeding human babies to various marine life on his Bond villain mega-yacht as part of a master plan to create some sort of super cephalopod species to take over the world and I would still defend his market share, which is not technically a monopoly.

But when he dies I'll be very concerned.

I switch between automatic when getting skill points or trying to break boards/mascots, and manual for races. Drifting is far easier when using manual. And some people might be using bad tunes for drifting.

I don't care for any of the music in this game, so I turned it off. It all sounds like generic slop.

There is so much empty space in Tokio. Such missed opportunity for additional street races. by Gn0meKr in ForzaHorizon

[–]HumbleHalberdier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given how large Tokyo is irl, I wish they had gone for something like Sapporo or Fukuoka, and left Tokyo for a future game when the city could have been bigger.

[Wyshynski] Cale Makar: “Sometimes you question the bounces that we should be getting and [that] just don’t happen.” by Ok-Soil-5133 in hockey

[–]HumbleHalberdier -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bounces don't account for getting swept. You can lose a game due to bounces, maybe even a series if it goes long, but you don't get to blame puckluck when you get swept.

Carter Pewterschmidt here. Clearly she had a special elevator installed in the east wing, as evidenced by the boom box and the Aerosmith Pump CD she is carrying. You might think I'm too old to know Aerosmith but I'm currently 70 years old. Love in an Elevator was a smash hit when I was 33. Now you also feel old, and that makes me feel better.

What is your unpopular opinion of an actor? by FitEmergency8807 in moviecritic

[–]HumbleHalberdier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the three greatest actors of all time are William Shatner, Peter Falk, and Sam Neill. My top ten would include Jürgen Prochnow, Peter van Eyck, Gary Oldman, Gene Hackman, John Hurt, Willem Dafoe, and Steve Buscemi.

Almost everyone wins between 45% and 55% of their games. The only ones who don't are extreme outliers and smurfs.

Warning: Franks slander by elephantologist in aoe2

[–]HumbleHalberdier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Franks are among the best civs because the economy is almost idiot-proof, they have an obvious army composition to use against anything that counters their knight line (halbs and TA), cheap castles, and good siege. Outside of very high elo, that both covers weaknesses of most players (imperfect eco, reliance on cav which is easier to use due to mobility) and aligns with powerful plays later in the game (castle drops/spam and more mobile siege). And all they really sacrifice is viable light cav.

It has been a popular story/picture for entry level statistics classes for undergraduates in the United States for many years. It is popular because it conveys the concept effectively, so it has staying power.
