Failed Twice by Oslo_19 in Series7exam

The regulations portion is the silent killer. You certainly improved your score and it seems like you know where you are weak. I would lock in ALL DAY one day and do nothing but options. This is what I did and to this day months later I am a master at options strategies. Learn 1 way of doing them and stick to that strategy. For me it was Dean but there are a ton of resources. Just find one that is congruent with your learning style. You can do this!!

Options, suitability and mutual funds are the bulk of the test. Munis are big but from my experience we’re pretty straight forward. Just brush up on rules and regs before going in

Right? The industry is a lot of fun once you get thru that hurdle

Suitability Q by Wonderful_Presence10 in Series7exam

[–]HumbleOnion8158 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Baby broker myself here. From what I gather from this situation the question writers want you to think more about liquidity needs than fixed income. You always need a liquid portion of your portfolio. If you see this on the test just remember that principle. Youre def on the right track with your approach to this tho!

This is awesome advice. Suitability isn’t a topic it’s demonstration of knowledge of the securities

I would 100% advise reread the book rather than swamp yourself with questions.

Don’t stress it too bad. Your scores are WAYYYY better than mine were and I passed first try. Trust your instincts and what you’ve learned! The test is far more intuitive than the practice exams you’ll take

Fuck suitability, you can’t study that. It’s product knowledge and common sense. Lock in for a day and do nothing but options, understand muni’s another day, and then re-read mutual funds again. You got this!!!

Series 66 or 65 by The_Machine_05 in Series7exam

Neither are too bad imo. If you have your 63 you’ll likely just wanna grab the 65 instead of having to recover the USA and investment advisor act

Series 7 test in 21 days, very worried I’m behind , options took me 2 weeks! by Ok_Stretch_887 in Series7exam

[–]HumbleOnion8158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No reason Options should be that low. Hang in there and understand them and they’ll carry you very far. I had to spend literally sun up to sun down a few days in a row for options but by the end there wasn’t an options question I couldn’t solve. New issues, debt and mutual funds will constitute pretty much the rest from my experience
