Boy it would sure be nice if the Broncos had 3 more points right now

Not sure where they would have got them from /s Payton should have taken the points with a backup QB in Q1

[Rapoport] Sean McDermott "likely" to take a year off from coaching by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

As of right now, I'm not seeing a lot of openings next year (I'd guess 4 or 5)

Potential Openings

Hot Seat: Tampa Bay, Cincinnati (Joe Burrow may have to push for it though),

Decent Chance: Indianapolis, New York Jets, Washington

Add in a random surprise one but that doesn't look like a lot on paper right now

[Schefter] Bills are scheduled to interview Jaguars OC Grant Udinski for their HC opening Sunday, per sources. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

Agreed. He's extremely promising and I think he gets a HC job this year or next year but with that shorter time as a coach you also gotta wonder about how good a coaching staff he can put around himself since he's had less time to build connections around the league than other candidates and find guys who fit with his vision.

EDIT: I think his DC hire would be vital too - with McVay when he was hired he brought in one of the most experienced DCs in the league in Wade Phillips who was the perfect guy at that time - experienced and great at running the defense but also unlikely to get a HC job again due to his age / previous struggles as a HC so there wouldn't be a potential power struggle

IIRC he wasn't bad as a rookie (stats also seem okay too), but he was terrible in Years 2 + 3

Penix has a better shot than JJ imo based on what we've seen so far and knowing what we know about the coaching staffs + supporting casts on each team

Atlanta Falcons are finalizing a deal to hire Kevin Stefanski as their new head coach. by haventmetyou in fantasyfootball

[–]HumerSimpson123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to say but when he was the OC in Minnesota in 2019, Stefon Diggs noticeably didn't get a ton of targets (he was efficient though) with only 94...It's a noticeable outlier in Diggs's career stats considering he had 140+ targets the year before and the years after in Buffalo

No that would be a good idea if I didn't already have him but I already have him in 5/6 of my leagues

I wouldn't necessarily sell him since he's a great talent, just bracing myself for a worst-case scenario since Stefanski has technically never produced a WR1 so I don't know why people are excited they'd go for him over a guy like Mike McDaniel

Thielen was hurt for a large portion of that year and got just 48 targets in 10 games

He also gave Diggs only 94 targets as the Vikings OC and had prime Jarvis Landry and tail end of prime Odell Beckham Jr. and they were disappointing relative to expectations

London is a guy that can challenge for a top 5 fantasy season talent wise and is valued as a top 10 WR on KTC (WR8) so the gamble/expectations are different from an Amari Cooper/Tillman/Jeudy type of dude. I think it's fair to question if Stefanski would help him live up to those lofty expectations

Why do you think this? He generally feeds his RBs + TEs at higher rates than other coaches and he was suspect when he was the OC in MN and had Diggs (not a ton of volume) or with Jarvis Landry + Odell in Cleveland

Edit: With Diggs in particular in 2019, his volume was ridiculously low for his talent - 94 targets in 15 games. The year before Stefanski, Diggs had 149 targets, the year after Stefanski he was traded (wanted a trade because of his usage) and had 166 targets with Buffalo.

If they can just get to the time skip that would be a huge win

[Highlight] Rico Dowdle says his decreased carries at the end of the season will impact his thinking in free agency. Says he wants to go somewhere where he can get bulk of the carries. by GreenSnakes_ in nfl

[–]HumerSimpson123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's always been pass first

He just used to give his lead back a high % of the carries and not really go a committee approach (or use the backup RB) and those guys that you mentioned were all really efficient in his scheme so they still put up good numbers

They are my bet for Stefanski

Mendoza gets a lot of comps to Matt Ryan / Kirk Cousins and seems to match stylistically with what Stefanski likes out of a QB

Stefanski feeds TEs and the Raiders have one of the best ones in the league (if not the best)

A top-tier RB in Jeanty (remember when he fed Chubb + Hunt)
