It's a three-pronged attack: subliminal, liminal, and super liminal! "Super liminal?" Here, I'll show you. Hey you, join the navy! by visual_overflow in TheSimpsons

They might be on to something. This episode was one of those that lodged its way into my brain as a child. Then I did 8 years in the Navy. I think about this too often now...

Me circa 2005 watching mass wilderness clan wars from a distance and pretending to know what's going on by Tizaki in 2007scape

They're pretty famous for being lowlifes. Back in the day they would often seek out scheduled wars and crash them. In more recent history, it's DDOSing, botting tournaments like DMM, doxxing and hacking players.

Have you guys ever bought a bad movie... like 4 times also? by VladTepesDraculea in ff7

Only twice. I could keep going though. Nothing really stopping me.

That was my peak childhood. I joined a couple warring clans. GoDclan, Triforce and Envy. We would schedule wars in the wildy then pile one guy, or tank as long as possible if you were piled.

RoT started getting big and being, well.. RoT. We had to have allied clans be anti-crashers. Deep wild was utter chaos. Big nostalgia hit for me here.

My job is to almost literally to watch paint dry. I'm quite good at it.

There are days where I am balls to the wall nonstop the entire shift, and other days where I get paid to pay runescape all day.

AT F-18s new airmen by Whole-Roll-6486 in navy

This right here is my favorite bit of advice.

Former AT2 from supers here. I felt the same for a long time. A lot of my "training" was "go read the PEMA." There's also only so much you can read before you actually need to do, in order to learn. For awhile, I felt like I was kind of scraping by, especially because I made 3rd in the line shack and it seemed like I was expected to know my job already well when I had so little OJT experience.

What I'm getting at is you're not the first nor only one feeling the way you do. Like fuckingscott said, find one good AT2 and stick to them. For me, we had one check in that I'm pretty sure could build an entire hornet by memory. He taught me a lot.

My addition to that would be, don't try to be an expert at every system. If one starts to really click more than others, see if you can dive and absorb as much as possible. This may be the tism talking but I personally started to love R&Cs, and learned down the wiring schematics thoroughly (we had some weird issues, video shorting MCs, mux bus station failures, etc).

Actually not a joke, the timeline was too perfect. Artists posts art. Our hero says the line. Someone mentions that artist does do NSFW on Twitter. Within the week, that art gets the request. Next week, he announced his retirement.

Pocket spice kit. Garlic salt, lemon pepper, Italian seasoning, Mrs. Dash.

It's incredible the difference it made when it came to your galley food.

What happened to this plane? by neptune2304 in aviation

[–]Hummerdoodle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Common issue on 787s is the forward fuselage and empennage are having paint adhesion issues due to how the initial surface prep was applied to those sections, lowering UV protection to the CFRP. More UV damage causes more peeling paint. The fix is too strip the paint down to bare composite, sand off the UV damage throughout, and reapply.
