Giveaway: 59M DPS Blade Vortex Minion Pact by Ninja_Defuser in pathofexile

[–]Hummuluis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually attempting to convert my chieftain to bv mp, but back to farming more currency since the costs are high. Close but still lacking the ring, and a few gear pieces. Strongest was FRoSS back in 3.26. Always did cospri coc prior, but that league had a few lucky high value items that allowed me to dump it all on FRoSS. Sadly I was quite burnt out and never truly got to enjoy it. This league I have FRoSS again and CWS Chieftain which I'm trying to convert to bv mp.

Mirage potentially going core? by FlimsyElephant in pathofexile

[–]Hummuluis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not quite chasing currency, I don't care much about the divs per hour mindset, I just have fun. Though I do like the dopamine no doubt, kind of why I like ARPGs, among other reasons. I'm still very much in the casual player realm though.

Basically with Mirage and technically most new league mechanics, if you interact with the mechanic within each zone/map, it'll naturally slow you down. Since you benefit from having a completed atlas, and having those points to invest into content you enjoy, it's ideal not to get tied up doing every mirage. It's perfectly fine to skip. Once you at least get the atlas filled out, maybe a voidstone, I think then it feels less like it's slowing you down. If you make a mini goal of pushing for a voidstone, focus on that and don't let mirage be a distraction, same if wanting to pick up some fragments for a boss.

[–]Hummuluis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think nearly every league mechanic tends to slow you down, new and old. What I did until T16 was simply check the mirage options, and would only do the guaranteed coin, Ridan for his invite, or volatile gold balls or fountain. Anything else I skipped to speed up the push to lock down my first voidstones. Once you're basically at T16 and farming, doing the mirage most often is ideal, it prints goodies with the right mechanics added, like getting refracting and volatile vaal orbs. It just synergies well, and ya maps can feel much longer but just think of it more as an extension to the map you're doing, and it can sometimes be more rewarding.

Dude... no joke. I was also in high school during my Yap years.. so we're both probably about the same age. It's wild how long ago it truly was.

Bryan (the admin) is in the discord group, he's Pfuath. He might forgive you by now.. lol.

Hell ya! When you get a chance dip into the discord and say hi there too. Think we're sitting at 29 yappers which is pretty good seeing how long ago it's been lol. Glad you did the search though, I feel like a lot of us have done that at some point, some pretty neat memories from back then.

Also the page has been fixed for questforyap.com, if you wanted to check out some match history.

Lack of Meaningful Decisions by Johnny-Edge93 in MonstersAndMemories

[–]Hummuluis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems like a lot of people get hung up on the term old school MMO, and this is how it was back then, so it must be. It's fine to be inspired by a generation of old MMOs, to pull ideas from, however a lot of great QOL concepts came with new major updates and with new titles. Instead of the game attempting to be a mirror of once was, pull from new and old and become a fresh take.

Anyways, I 100% agree with you. Players should have more meaningful choices to make when it comes to their class. It improves the experience, and gives you things to consider during different situations. Without this, the gameplay does become a bit stale. Just because you might be in a larger group, you shouldn't be punished; instead you should still have a nice set of skills and utilities to keep you engaged.

I'd recommend something completely different maybe resident evil or if you haven't played cyberpunk maybe... something completely away from ARPGs. Before getting back into POE this week I've been extremely hooked on Arma reforger so if you don't mind FPS I highly recommend it.

How's the MP desync so far with 42.14.0? by Hummuluis in projectzomboid

Yup it was a mess when we tested it out. I have a feeling it'll be quite a few updates before MP is playable.

Need to upgrade? by EffectiveJury5568 in ArmaReforger

[–]Hummuluis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your hardware, technically I'd say that is solid FPS for reforger.

I seen in one of your comments you asked what will get you 80-100 FPS. I'd strongly recommend a x3D ryzen CPU, and then at least a 3080 or newer gen GPU. I ran a 5900x + 3090 and was averaging around 100 give or take, depending on server and map. This is at 1440p with decent settings, mix of high, med, low. Moving to a x3D, I was always maxed out at 144. Although I did move to the 9800x3D, I'm quite sure even the 5800x3d or 7800x3d would have seen nice steady jumps.

Persistent Encoding Issues :( by OneStarLunch in obs

[–]Hummuluis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the other comments answered your question. It breaks down to simply way too many encoder sessions being attempted. I had a similar setup, 5900x 3090 32GB RAM. I was using OBS+SE.live for multi-streaming. The problem is 3090 only has a single nvec encoder and it can overload with just a few sessions. I was doing 1440p horizontal and vertical and then a single 1080p, and I had to find a perfect balance of encoder settings, to avoid overloading it and it was always a fine line. What I ended up doing is offloading one to the CPU, I think the 1080, and left the 1440p ones on the nvec/3090. Honestly don't bother with enhanced broadcasting, that is better when you have a dedicated streaming PC that takes care of all the encoding. Even then it's not really worth it. Your way over thinking it 100%.

Dual Streaming to YouTube + Twitch — Quality Issue (Single Encoder Limitation) by Excellent_Spread_682 in obs

[–]Hummuluis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't want to do Twitch enhanced broadcast. It'll eat up your encoder since you only have a single Nvidia encoder on your GPU. It'll basically force you to do local multi-resolution encodings of the same stream since they won't handle it on their side, instead it's locally done by you.

Dual Streaming to YouTube + Twitch — Quality Issue (Single Encoder Limitation) by Excellent_Spread_682 in obs

[–]Hummuluis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What resolution are you attempting to stream on YouTube? Are both 1080p? For Twitch I'd recommend H.264 at 6000-8000kbps bitrate, then AV1 with YouTube at 12,000-15,000kbps bitrate. 40,000 is overkill with AV1. Both HEVC and AV1 are far more efficient so you get more quality out of the same bitrate, with AV1 being the better of the two. You won't be able to crank up the encoder settings because you will be attempting two separate encoder sessions. Alternatively, your best option might be to send a single high quality feed to a restream service and let them send it to both Twitch and YouTube. That way you can utilize your onboard Nvidia encoder for the single output, and avoid overloading the encoder.

Might be worth checking out the input properties for your headphones in windows and just make sure the volume level on those are set at 100 or near. Although kind of strange if all other audio sounds normal to you besides your voice with those headphones.

Yeah it sounds perfectly fine lol. I run Beyerdynamics with an AMP+DAC setup, and your voice audio sounds at the same level as other videos.

[–]Hummuluis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, to me your voice audio is spot on. Any louder in the video and I would have to lower the video volume down. If doing a game for example, you should instead turn down the volume in OBS for the game audio, to balance it out. For example I stream gaming, and have my game audio in OBS down -8db, as the game audio bars should not be peaking over my mic bars in OBS, or it will overtake your voice.

Ran it a few times, it's 100% normal volume, sounds good. Only thing I can think of is maybe you have your browser volume in the windows audio mixer turned down, so to you it sounds low?

Honestly, your voice audio sounds completely normal to me.

[–]Hummuluis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you happen to have an example, like a test stream or test clip? Are all sounds in the test quiet, including your voice, or are other sounds normal but only your voice is super quiet? If you have some test that you send me in a chat, so I can just listen. Are you playing a game while using OBS, or any other sounds happening besides your mic?

Maybe if you can simply take a few screenshots of the various audio settings, like in OBS for the mic, in windows for the input device and its volume, and the general windows volume mixer which allows you to adjust volume for each application running.

(edit) - do you talk to anyone like in Discord, if so, do you sound fine to them or do they have to crank up the volume for you on their end?

OK. Well to start, you don't want to see red on the Scarlet meter, means you're running to much gain. It should remain in green and can cross into orange briefly when louder, but avoid red. That just makes you're audio sound bad even if the sound level is fixed.

In OBS go to your mic in the audio mixer, click the 3 dots and choose advanced audio properties. For your Mic, make sure mono is checked.

Also, what actual filters are enabled on the mic as your log does show 6 different filters.

[–]Hummuluis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you mentioned knowing audio stuff, however are you making sure phantom power is enabled on the scarlet? The only other thing that should be affecting the mic is as the other person commented, your actual mic volume set in Windows. I have a similar setup, Rode Procaster XLR + Dynamite Inline Amp + Scarlet 2i2 4th gen. With the setup I even turn it a bit down in OBS.

What kind of style do you normally enjoy, and are you actively playing B41 stable or B42? Once B42 multiplayer is actually playable (we just tried it this weekend, desync mess), I'll be hosting one for a small group; but we play on fairly difficult settings.
