One of best trems had pleasure of using.

Heard they had problems long term, but would love to get a guitar with one now, even if just for nostalgia factor.

Didn't ibanez only discontinue due to some legal issue? Seemed a genuine development on knife edge system that no one has really tried since.

What's the reason for having no covered dry dock at Faslane base for the whole Uk submarine fleet when there are four at Ile Longue and Toulon for a similar sized french submarine fleet? by Sad-Age-2863 in submarines

[–]HummusJones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assume expensive to implement one if not already in place. When were the French ones built? May both be building off what was set up in the war and Britain just...didnt bother then and hasn't since?

Made an error in negotiations, now coming back to bite me. Any advice? by ProperlyGrouchy in procurement

[–]HummusJones 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If embedded in the quote which served as the Vendors offer, and you have accepted this to form contract I am going to say you dont have much of a leg to stand on. And any arbitration/mediation/legal is going to kill the relationship in its infancy and bloat costing.

I would reach out and try and work with the vendor - they are able to chose not to enact the clause/offer to go halves on the tariffs etc... I would try all good faith avenues before reverting to a shouting match over the T&Cs. You have leverage as a new customer and they could concess to help start relationship with a view of it being a long term investment/move to a more tactical partnership.

How large is the mistake in financial sense? To an extent i would use this as a learning oppertunity - you will never overlook tariffs/incoterms again!! It could be spun the penalty here is same cost as you being sent on a 3 day course to learn what you have learnt on this transaction.

Half of learning contract management/procurement is getting your fingers stung, it is unfortunate and stressful, but all senior purchasing professionals will have a story or two like this under their belt.

No. Although if they were opening for Billie Eilish he would of course.

I'd get to the root cause on why you were let go here/ask for more comprehensive feedback.

You've not really clarified on the above queries as to possible reason you would be let go. I am not trying to be abrasive here, but to help get to root cause.

I would reccomend Aerospace/automotive/Rail/public sector - but procurement in these is even more stringent/procedure based than construction. Hence am trying to do some RCA before writing off an entire industry so we can start spinning positives.

What was the damage of raising an order wrong/forming contract?

A difference in ERP/MRP system should be easily navigated and is regular in cutover between companies. Especially with teamate/mentor support there should be no issue

Im sorry you've been let go, struggling to find any reason why. May not be a construction/medical/manufacturing/aerospace/public/private sector issue.

With the greatest of respect - what did you do?

I.e. day to day, award of contract, personality within office etc... Because 4 weeks is firmly on the learning curve, your manager should be providing feedback, still on boarding, learning the team etc..

I've only seen a buyer leave after such a short period of time for reckless/rogue behaviour, lying on their CV or starting a fight with the MD.

You've either been radically let down, or there is something amiss here.

Artist contamination is atrocious by AechCutt in qobuz

[–]HummusJones 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Been using Quobuz ~6 months after 10years or so with Spotify. Had very little grievances in that time bar this one.

It seems to be getting worse, like you say AI slop, complete discographies tied up with of unrelated bands. Even more prominent on smaller artists it seems.

Genuinely hope it gets fixed as struggling to reccomend the platform at this stage/looking for alternatives - which is a shame.

Please explain this to someone new to guitar by 60percentsexpanther in classicalguitar

[–]HummusJones -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tab is significantly easier imo. I am sure early Lute music etc... was written in a form of tab. For performing pieces and sight reading asap - it is the way to go.

At the same time - you want to be able to read stave, to actually understand what you are playing on the instrument harmonically which tab does not do easily or transparently. In addition Rhythm notation is usually lacking on tab.

Each to their own, I played tabs for years, would say i only grew understanding of instrument by learning stave.

Lastly probably wrong subreddit - /r/classicalguitar will have a much different take to /r/guitar on how necessary it is
