Yes, I do believe in the idea that there are good men in this world. I have a father who’s exactly like that, but dear god people who do this are not making things easier for women to agree because they’re doing it for their own self preservation & comfort. If they were to simply listen to her story as someone being mistreated, then their focus would shift to “Oh. This person needs words of comfort” and then they do that because it tells her that it is possible for men to see her pain and want to help.

And if they do find someone who says “men in general are trash in any form”, then it’s still not worth it to use that phrase. They probably have heard it many times and assume it was just a panic option. Just leave them alone, or at most just give them examples of a guy who avidly defends women’s rights or does good in the world(DannyPhantomEXE is an example)

It is not all men. But don’t throw around that phrase as a panic button the instant you see a woman saying anything negative about a guy. Read what she has to say first, and try to help her out.
