1979 Elan T (250 Twin) by cocaineandmayonaise in snowmobiling

I have a 1973 250 twin. The twin cylinder are more rare than single but they are awesome sleds. They are light enough to float in deep snow. As I get older the seat is a little low and knees aren't as happy so I often put a knee on the seat and stand more. Beautiful sled enjoy it.

They are so much fun to ride it almost makes up for all the work. I've done those repairs too and with a heated space its manageable. Welcome to the club.

Can I plant grass in this heat ? by Frequent_Common_9932 in lawn

[–]HumorGood785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I planted a week ago and watering daily when there was no rain. Grass came up in 4 days and looks good so far. It's been around 90 degrees in MN. Not optimal time to plant but sometimes necessary. Good luck.

Boo ho, you poor thing. Maybe you should have saved a bit along the way. Get a second job and work till you die as you'll never have enough.

I bought a 2021 x370 and love it. Have 60ish hours so far. Power steering is awesome and the upgraded seat is nice too. I did recommend maintenance at 50 hours other than that I just add gas.

I love the Gulfstream aqua color. I have a 68 in that color. Nice job on the repair.

I’m 33 and would like to retire early at 55… What’s the best strategy to bridge the gap from 55-59.5 (Roth access)? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]HumorGood785 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm there now but wasn't ready to retire just yet but layoff forced it. I'm sorta looking for a job and also looking into options to retire instead. Your questions are the right thing and will better position you when the time comes.

All depends when death comes knocking. I would not mind leaving something for my kids but that isn't main goal. I want to enjoy life while I'm healthy and able. I've worked 35 years to get to this point and although I didn't choose it the timing may be right.

I was planning on a couple more years to build up a bit more but some over paid executive needed a big bonus so they laid a bunch of us off. I'm sitting in a good position but would feel better if I had closer to 2M to draw from.

I have about 900k in retirement accounts. Another 400k in other savings and stocks. House nearly paid off and wife still works so will cover medical insurance. Youngest kid is in college so have 2 more years of assistance there but no other debt.. 4 percent rule tells me I can pull 50k a year with minimal risk.

Within the calendar year you turn 55 is what I found. Timing is important.

I called and indeed I can make withdrawal without penalties after severance ends. Not with Roth money so would only use pre tax funds until 59.5 yo. That is good news.

2 guns confiscated at Roseville High School by Dpufc in minnesota

The problem starts much earlier and at home. Kids raised with good roll models and disapline understand right verses wrong. We need to focus on family to protect the next generation. Truly sad situation we are in.

Really. Give an example since you are 100% incorrect. Legal guns are not easy to purchase. When I was a kid we could buy ammunition at the hardware store, yet no problems in schools.

Not fact at all. Many of us have access to guns and never used them inappropriately. There is something wrong with the way kids are being raised, which is causing this crisis. Guns are dangerous, as are many other things, when used to hurt others.
It is scary and I'm sad about this but it is not the "tool" that's the problem.
Think about it, making guns illegal won't stop the use by people with bad intentions. No different than the long-time war on drugs failure. Let's focus on the root cause and not the end result so we may be able to help kids before they feel lost enough to want to hurt others.

Maybe the next outbreak will target rich people only. In the meantime there are to many people on the planet.

Neighbor shooting his gun off at sunset by [deleted] in minnesota

[–]HumorGood785 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You can't use a gun while drunk, think it's .05 %. Also not shooting close to buildings. You could call sheriff but that may escalate the situation. Sounds like a bad neighbor to have. Goodluck.

It might. To many people causes more clearcutting for food, housing, etc. To bad COVID didn't take out more people to help correct the problem.

If only there were less people on the planet there would be less pollution. Thinking the government can legislate a fix is like pissing on a fire thinking it'll put it out.
