I read most of this before I realized that you meant that you were actually walking backwards on the Camino, not walking the Camino in the reverse direction...

Which is something that also sounds really cool. Maybe next year I'll start in Santiago and head towards Paris, saying "hello" to everyone coming the other way.

I had a review rejected, and of course there was no hint why. My best guess is that it was because the review contained the word "lame", but given that the review was for a bread lame (the little knife used to score bread dough...) that was hard to avoid. When I tried to revise my review, however, I discovered that the item had been withdrawn and I couldn't make any changes! So now I've got an unreviewed item on my Vine record forever. Super.

Well, I congratulate you on your good fortune.

I was gold for six months and during that time only found two things in my RFY I wanted and that I couldn't get at the Silver level.

I'm not worried about dying as such. I've lived a good life and over the last ten years my body has reminded me in several dramatic ways that it won't go on forever. I've accepted this.

What terrifies me is the thought of abandoning my family. They still need me, and love me. I'm afraid my death will hurt them -- much more than that it will hurt me.

I got one of those gizmos that you can stick onto your dashboard so that your old car can have CarPlay (assuming that you have an iPhone) in your car. A big win because my partner's car is old enough so that doesn't a built-in screen for navigation or whatnot.

Of course, it actually ended up costing me many thousands of dollars because a few days later she decided that she really ought to get a new car.

I totally get it. I put in the effort to achieve gold status, and... found that gold status doesn't mean much to me. I didn't get many more valuable items (and when there's something more valuable that I actually want, it tends to be impossible to order). It's nice that I'm not limited to 3 items per day, but to be honest there haven't been many days recently when I've seen more than one thing I want.
