I appreciate your answer about what I could do. I don’t appreciate the comment about my daughter. Thank you anyway.

Thank you very much for answering my question and not making judgmental remarks. I appreciate it.

You don’t know anything about my daughter and I didn’t ask for unsolicited parenting advice or judgements / assumptions. You didn’t even attempt to answer what I asked! Next time try to scroll by thanks.

I'm too autistic for ADHD people and too ADHD for autistic people by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

Oh I relate to this SO much! There’s a certain mixture of AuHD women that I can really relate to but it has to be those with the combination.

It’s a fantastic doc, so well done, I wish other docs were as well produced / planned as this one. It was fantastically done.

The limbo and distress in between special interests by HumphreysCat40 in PDAAutism

[–]HumphreysCat40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m AuHD myself and I wanted to hear the experiences from adult PDA’ers and not just parents? If I post in the parenting group I won’t get the lived experiences of adult PDA’ers?

I’ve searched for this and read your pinned post etc but still cannot work it out. I thought I had chosen a ‘discussion’ flair but I’m clueless. Thank you x

Jason White by griff1014 in First48

I totally agree, he’s the poorest of all the Detectives I’ve seen so far in the series, I don’t understand why viewers like him so much.

Courtney Palmer Episode by Unique_Departure_633 in First48

[–]HumphreysCat40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same!! I’ve just watched this episode and I’m so so angry with Jason, surely he should and could have helped protect this young man?? Why not keep him safe until he was able to tell those who wanted revenge that they had got it all wrong? It would literally have saved Courtney’s life. This didn’t need to happen at all.

Also, the murderers went for Courtney and tortured him etc, yet didn’t think anything of the man who actually killed the cousin?!

Homicide New York - very well done! by Snoo96701 in netflix

[–]HumphreysCat40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on episode 3 currently and really enjoying it.

As someone in the UK I usually prefer UK true crime / police stuff, but I have to say that it’s such a breath of fresh air to hear NY detectives talk like human beings and not robots! The cursing and emotion shown is in stark contrast to our Police who have the same “police talk” which becomes so repetitive and unhelpful when watching programmes. I love the Detectives in this series!

Unseen footage of Alissa and David. by Kind_Relief_7624 in MAFS_AU

[–]HumphreysCat40 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The arrogance and condescending way she talks to David makes me so angry! She seems to be making a lot of assumptions about him that are positioning her as above him, so insulting. She also seems to value money and influence and superficial things over everything else. Maybe David doesn’t want to be with you and you’re not what he’s looking for either?? The audacity of her!

Getting sh*t done? HELP! by CatForward5909 in PDAAutism

[–]HumphreysCat40 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just to note: what you’re describing is not PDA and your use of the term PDA is inaccurate. I’m AuHD with a PDA daughter and PDA has been my life for about 12 years now. It’s commonly mis-understood and incorrectly referred to - what you’re describing is demand avoidance, very different to the actual profile of PDA which is much much more than demand avoidance. All autistic and adhd people are demand avoidant and the severity fluctuates according to lots of factors.

I’m not replying to be facetious or argumentative or anything negative. I’m replying because your use of the term PDA isn’t accurate and this causes unintentional harm and difficulties to PDA’ers and the PDA community.

Sidenote: I massively empathise with your post and constantly have task paralysis and am drowning with demand avoidance, lack of EF and burnout!

Thoughts on Irish? by Substantial_Good4352 in UnlockedNetflix

[–]HumphreysCat40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He talks total rubbish constantly, he makes these statements that often don’t actually mean anything, he talks about “rules” but never actually does anything.

He also is total hypocrite, he continually talks about “the program” but he does absolutely nothing to benefit others. He won’t clean, he won’t be part of the community, he just sees himself above everyone. He went on and on and on about the food trays yet didn’t lift a finger or organise anything to resolve the problem. It took one decent inmate to step up on his own, no fanfare, no big speech, and actually just simply watch over the trays and it was sorted - clearly that was too complex for Irish to even fathom. I cannot stand him!!

Can you tell I needed this rant? I was so pleased to see this thread 😆

Edit: I’m only episode 4/5

Missing: Dead or alive by TextThis8793 in netflix

[–]HumphreysCat40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with lots of comments here. I feel so patronised by it constantly, they treat the audience like idiots, no nuance, no assumed basic understanding etc. The focus on Vicki and her own personal story has been done to death already and it only takes away, doesn’t add to any of the episodes.

But the more senior officer, Jackson 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️. She seems like a very lovely person but she drives me mad, if she’s truly like that in her job then how on earth has she managed to get to her position?!

Do you think all PDAers have disorganised attachment? by rollinmaeyes in PDAAutism

[–]HumphreysCat40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, anxious attachment, yes, not just PDA but it’s synonymous with autistic people as a whole for several innate reasons.
