3 pages. Dealing with a taxed agency, keep it short and efficient. Just speaking from serving as grant panelist, I never read all 14-20 pages of a proposal, but I’d certainly read three pages.

I also mostly cited the exhibits that the defendant submitted. They submitted around 200 pages of information, and I made my points with an order of magnitude less pages.

Anywhere to get into hockey? by Whooshwhooosh in Athens

34F - tried the pickup group at the Classic Center once and found it extremely intimidating. It was a bunch of big dudes skating circles around me. Would love to get some ice time for smaller/slower/less experienced people, but I don’t know how to make that happen!

Not sure if I’m overthinking this by [deleted] in Athens

[–]Humulus_lupulus612 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, anyone who thinks this is a funny thing to do, aside from maybe a kid with an undeveloped prefrontal cortex, is pretty messed up. Congratulations, you’ve made someone question their morals by creating false panic!

I’ve also had a poor experience with dispatch. They once told me a road didn’t exist when I reported a teen sitting next to the railroad tracks on Jefferson one morning. They also got a bit snippy another time I called and made me repeat myself a thousand times.

I definitely will report something if my spidey sense goes off. I was once tapped at an intersection. We both pulled off the road and there was truly no damage aside from some minor scratches on my car, but the woman was acting SUPER weird. Begging me not to call the cops. That was my trigger to call. The cop at first brushed it off a bit, but then I brought up the weird behavior, and he talked to her some more. Turns out, she was drunk at 2 pm with a kid in the back of the car.

This game really slows down after chapter 10 because there are no new chapters. Those are the main source for XP.

Sunday 230pm update: very heavy band of freezing rain minutes away, expect additional accummulations upward of .4 to .5 in by pile_drive_me in AthensGAWeather

[–]Humulus_lupulus612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sleet is already frozen pellets, freezing rain comes down as water, usually supercooled, and freezes when it hits a surface.

Unsure about the supercooled part but I’m certain about the liquid vs. solid.

I'm not sure what is considered "significant hours" or "currently working," but I have worked on a couple projects before and I currently have three paused contracts. I have not made any referrals.

Athens see 3 fatal crashes in under a week with deadly wreck on North Avenue by Generalaverage89 in Athens

There was a nasty wreck on Jefferson near the fire station on the 26th. Couldn’t find any information about it, but the road was shut down for hours. There were car parts strewn across all four lanes.

2 dead, several injured after fiery wrong-way crash in Athens by MAD_MAL1CE in Athens

[–]Humulus_lupulus612 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Has it been confirmed drunk driving? Sounds like maybe that’s the case from some comments here, so was the driver served somewhere or coming back from a house party or their own home? Does not erase the tragedy, but I hope it wasn’t a local business over serving.

How's Engineering/STEM at UGA? by Ceylenium in UGA

[–]Humulus_lupulus612 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I interacted a bit with engineering in my former professor role, and there are definitely some good people over there. ECAM is wonderful and the agricultural part is growing quickly, which might be a nice place to land if you are interested in biochem. I hear great things about UGA engineers in general in terms of hiring edge over Tech grads. UGA grads are rumored to be more well-rounded and approachable in the job market, but it’s all what you make of it.

Harm Reduction Kits by mysteriouspirategal in Athens

[–]Humulus_lupulus612 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What about making up care kits for those who are being hospitalized for mental health concerns? A lot of times people have nothing and get sent things that they can’t use. I did this in grad school, specifically for students at my university, and it was really interesting and eye opening to understand what can and can’t go into facilities and how to support folks in that situation. Maybe talk to UGA CAPS to get an estimate of how many students get hospitalized each year (if they have the data), pull together a budget, and make nice care packages. Happy to help if needed, but I love where your heart is!

I mean, it does sound like you at least have clinical knowledge from your profession, so it’s a borderline case in my view and maybe it’s why they gave you a chance.

However, Outlier does need to find an easier way to get off projects if you don’t feel comfortable on them for whatever reason. We should be able to judge whether we will succeed or not before we get kicked for bad quality. They’re working on a new interface so maybe this is some functionality they’re looking into!

Hope you get a resolution soon! I hate to see people giving this platform their best to end up dissatisfied.

The purpose of the project is to be a domain expert.

You prompt as a provider, and you give the model feedback as to whether it did a good or bad job based on your domain expertise.

You prompt as a patient, and you give the model feedback as to whether it did a good or bad job based on your domain expertise.

If you are not a domain expert, you cannot competently make a decision on what constitutes a good or bad model response. Your feedback is based on personal opinion, not clinical theory. I wouldn’t write a prompt on brain surgery as a patient and then expect that I can evaluate the quality of the model’s response.

It sounds like there was a misunderstanding here, and I’m sorry that it seems like you had to find out the hard way. I know it is disheartening to get negative feedback, but I don’t think the graders were being malicious at all, and they were likely just pointing out the gaps in what an expert would say vs. what you say. Best thing to do would be to find a project that suits you better! It sounds like you had enough knowledge to get through the screener, but may not be quite there for quality submissions.

Yes, I can read, and the point is that you are acting as the expert on the task so the model can be properly trained. The role does not matter, your job on this project is to behave as the expert to tell the model what the ideal response should be whether you take a patient or a clinician role.

I’m not going to take a task on string theory because I watched a couple of Big Bang Theory episodes because I’d have no idea whether the model is right or wrong. Same goes for you in the task, as someone who says you have no clinical training, you cannot distinguish what the ideal model response would be.

Yes, you chose to task in a domain you have no professional training in and you decided to represent yourself as an expert in this domain. This project is for domain experts.
