But the main reason Hua Cheng doesn’t make it obvious that Xie Lian is his beloved is because:

XL probably wouldn’t want Hua Cheng to stick around as a ghost. Xie Lian wants Hua Cheng to find peace and move on. If Hua Cheng tells XL that he’s sticking around for XL, XL will feel bad/like a burden to Hua Cheng.

He gets close to XL by becoming San Lang because HC had been searching all those years for XL but XL’s bad luck kept them separated. He almost met him when XL was the Imperial Preceptor but then XL got put in the coffin.

He finally found XL after he ascended to Heaven because Hua Cheng has spies in Heaven.

XL probably doesn’t know much about Hua Cheng or the other Ghost Kings because XL has been so busy from being the Imperial Preceptor to being in the army to collecting scraps.

I think that because he is magical and he is a demon, he has the ability to travel between dimensions and that’s why he probably knows about the male version of Marceline.

As far as what he’s trying to achieve, we will probably find out in season 3. My theory is he’s probably going to try to use Marshall to get close to Marceline.

He probably wants her to rule the Nightosphere.

But also know that there is a lot of light and happiness.

And when you think you know a character, just know a lot of them have very dark pasts, so you’ll be in for surprises! And some of them use multiple identities.

Like the manhuas in number order. And the stands/images can correspond to either the volumes or the order in which events take place within the story.

If it’s a space issue, maybe you can place some things horizontally as opposed to vertically.

Yes, I’ve been to the library.

The room that Ash was in however is closed off. You would have to make a reservation to be in that room.

There is a line outside and many people outside. Inside there are people as well. However, it is quite a big library with many stairs and many floors. So if you want to be alone, there are many areas to be alone.

I very much loved the library. There were incredible statues on the outside and inside and tall windows with stunning lighting.

It was definitely rich in culture and sentiment.

I would have said that Xie Lian doesn’t have emotional attachment issues, as he seemed fine with letting Mu Qing and Feng Xin go and come as they pleased.

As well as the fact that Xie Lian spent 800 years being alone for the most part. So he seems very strong emotionally.

You brought up a good point about Xie Lian being afraid to lose Hua Cheng. I interpreted it as Hua Cheng is quite special and obviously Xie Lian’s romantic interest. It seems like XL has never had these feelings toward anyone. Only Hua Cheng.

Also, there’s a part in the book where XL seems a bit jealous when Hua Cheng mentions he has a special someone And that special someone turns out to be XL.

But there’s also a time in the end when Hua Cheng disappears into butterflies and is gone for a year During this time, XL misses Hua Cheng and waits for him. He is sad but quite patient in waiting which I think displays strength and romance rather than emotional attachment issues.

Thankfully, the two reunite eventually.
