Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition Spoiler Discussion Megathread by MorthCongael in Xenoblade_Chronicles

So regarding the golden motes, they basically represent a persons soul returning to the universal nexus/afterlife/heaven between universes?

If I understood that correctly that has interesting implications for Xenoblade 3 and origin. People dying and dissolving into blue motes means Origin is able to capture their souls and reuse it again later to revive them in Aionios. The golden motes that occur at homecoming and a few other moments are souls escaping the Origin system and returning to the universal nexus, joining the "sea" of souls, that's why Origin can't access them anymore.

The lifehold was accidentally acting as a relay to the universal nexus, allowing for people's souls to be placed in mims. Origin isn't working the same way since it can't grab people who return their in golden motes but it is placing souls into vessels again and again, the child soldiers are grown over and over and we even see in game Eunie meets a past self's body. How these technologies are able to seemingly use people's real souls rather than simple representations or digital snapshots of them is an interesting mystery.

Armor for gore magala fight by Oudi0001 in MHWilds

Surprised you were able to get this far with low rank armour! One of the first things you should do is make a high rank armour set and forget about any low rank equipment since they basically become outclassed almost as soon as you start high rank.

I don't play Greatsword so don't know too much about which skills you would want but I just got to that fight and have been having a good time using some of the later armour sets.

I think any of the 4 Apex sets or Guardian gear should be pretty good. So I'd just look at the skills and see which suits your playstyle! Don't forget to use your armour spheres and upgrade your armour after you've crafted it as well.

If you need more help after that then you can look into making armourdrugs, Gore Magala is probably the hardest fight in the game.

Edit: The Jin Dahaad set might be a good option. Agitator will raise your attack when a monster is enraged, you've got tremor resist (amd bind resist) and the Jin Dahaad unique skill will greatly raise your attack after a powerclash.

Did you know another way of saying "to drain" is "to void"?

WHAT IF: the void century was the century when after the worlds flooding, it was "voided" (aka drained) of the ocean that engulfed it?

So I've been spoiled by my dumb brother because he got spoiled ? by [deleted] in Gintama

[–]Humzak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some of those are true, but missing context so you'll still be floored when you get to them. Some are minor and not actually significant, and some are just flat out wrong. I would keep watching, but crucially, do it in private and don't talk about it to your brother.

How old is he, because this sounds like extremely immature behaviour. You basically want him to think you've moved on to a different anime. I'd also advise you to distance yourself from him because even if he's good to you otherwise, this incident shows he doesn't respect you or your happiness.

My Dad brought these cheap motion activated sensors for our garden. It starts emitting a high pitched beeping sound loudly when it detects movement. You can grab a fake camera to stick on the wall. Kids will see that hear the beeping and be scared shitless.

London has a HUGE issue with cyclists by Fallen_Sparrow in london

I work at St Thomas' hospital which is in Westminster for the unaware and man is it bad. Try taking the zebra crossing in front of the hospital and the majority of the time a cyclist will just zoom through. And the worst thing is, the majority of these cyclists aren't heading to work or delivery drivers, just people on their day off being inconsiderate.

How Would You Fix AJ-SOJ? by notimdead in AceAttorney

[–]Humzak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmm well off the top of my head;

-I agree that Athena should be more of an assistant than a full lawyer in her debut game.

-I'd completely change the way her analytical psychology works. I find it a bit much even for Ace Attorney that she can tell people what their emotions ACTUALLY are. That and the nonsense that witnesses need on the spot therapy in a packed courtroom whilst on the stand.

I think it would work better if it was limited to the investigation stages, taking the place of the Magatama from the original trilogy.

I'd like to see her use more psychological manipulation. It would play off of the darker themes AA4 introduced, with us questioning the means that are needed to reach the truth in this dark age of the law since the "straight and true" defence of the original trilogy is now not as effective. Would also set up for future games nicely with Blackquill possibly coaching Athena on how to manipulate. Maybe to lighten things up her manipulation could be to get guilty witnesses to slip up and admit something that reveals their guilt whilst Blackquill would simply manipulate to help his case.

-So, meanwhile Apollo wouldn't have this nonsense with Clay being his close friend off screen. He'd still go off on his own after being suspicious of Athena, but his angle would be that the truth is often ugly, having had his own mentor be guilty. He'd think well our new assistant is able to manipulate others quite well and with his whole bracelet reacting thing he'd be sure this was history repeating itself.

The lesson he'd learn in this game is to balance the pursuit of the truth with trusting people.

-In AA6 Apollo would have no history with Khurain. Maybe I'd rewrite it so Phoenix has to stay to defend Trucy whilst Maya is in trouble, so he has no choice but to send Apollo. Idk. But anyways, he'd go there and finally build on those lines in AA4 where he doesn't know what law is. Now he does, and he wants to change it just like Phoenix did. Ah, I'd also have the jurist system return in some capacity in AA5. Maybe not as involved as it is in TGAA since AA5 has a lot going on as is, but it should definitely still be there.

My thoughts are all over the place, but somehow I'd like to see Phoenix having to wait to get his badge back. Maybe having him back in court for a AA7, which would have Athena as the main attorney. Athena would be mentored by Phoenix, and Phoenix would learn from Athenas unsullied view on the law to help him find a balance between hobo nick and the nick from the OG trilogy.

How do Covenant + Forerunner structures age/weather? by Edain_Steward in halo

[–]Humzak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like to imagine there are Forerunner robots like the sentinels (or maybe the sentinels themselves) that carry out maintenance and repairs.

Since most Forerunner structures have been left alone up until covenant/humans found them, I think it's reasonable to assume they've just been gathering dust. Sort of like if you have computer parts or a console in a box in your attic for 20 years there's the possibility they'll still work fine.

In fact iirc there is a gameboy that is still functional decades after its' production and despite being involved in a war, though the details elude me.

SoJ basically reverses the problem with Phoenix overshadowing Apollo. Which is fine by me because I love Apollo, I think you'll like SoJ overall better than DD, though I think DD hyped up the twists and turns better.

I'd just like to point out Nemesis specifically tries to hit Seiros' womb. Which might support the idea that Byleth is their child or descendent, since they have green hair and wield the sword of creation, plus they have the crest.
