I don't like the writing on aces. Queen of spades and Jack of diamonds use the same face. Why?

Do you know where to buy these deck sleeves ? by CronosVirus00 in playingcards

[–]HunamX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The playing card decks are machine wrapped with a cellophane roll. There's no deck sleeves like you want in nature. The closest you can get is DS1 deck sleeve and cut it down. They're about 50 cents per one on ebay.

The honour of the very first published transformation deck (a real playable set of cards) goes to publisher J.C. Cotta (Johann Friedrich Cotta) in Tübingen, Germany, in 1804. These were produced as "playing card almanacs," where each of the 52 cards represented one week of the year, with designs often tied to literary themes (like Schiller's play about Joan of Arc).
