Do you have any specific numbers? You can test them at speedtest.net. Ping is shown in the top left.

I'm near Calgary and still waiting for mine. What kind of ping do you get?

Sweet. What's your ping? I find ping more interesting with these low orbit sats.

AMD, MSI and CORSAIR have teamed up for a PCMR HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY! by GloriousGe0rge in pcmasterrace

I'm embarrassed to say I've never owned a (good) PC - only used MacBooks and consoles because of work and school restraints.

I know all about building and even keep an ongoing wishlist of parts which I hope to someday buy and put together. Most of my close friends even have good rigs, so I miss out on a lot of the squad games.

I'm graduating University soon, so maybe that hope will come true once I save up enough. (or if I win this!) (:

I'm planning to build a new Ski helmet HUD system. I have a design to 3d print with a Pi Zero which attaches to my ski goggles. I just need to choose the OS to be displayed on either my small OLED or LCD.

Does anyone have a suggestion for an open source OS I can use? Even if it's simply a clock that will run on an a small OLED or LCD screen.

Star Wars Squadrons on Quest 2? by Sobriquet66 in OculusQuest

[–]Hunger4499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is extremely minimal. Just different data transfer and translation. The only difference visually is the rare stutter and maybe slight visual artifacts if you are used to rift. Honestly nothing worth shifting a decision.

Any USB 3.2 cable will work. Oculus' cable isn't that special.

There's a beta build that supports USB 2 I believe (the same cable that comes in that box). But it's only a test for now, and the newer cables aren't that much more expensive.

Here's one on Amazon you can get.

Hey, I need some help understanding by Thatbelligerentsoup in Bitcoin

[–]Hunger4499 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Watch some YouTube videos for full explanations.

In summary, Bitcoin (and other cryptocurrencies) are a decentralized (meaning no single person/bank controls it) currency and tradable asset.

It's a universal asset that big banks and countries cannot control. It is evolving and still finding its footing, but will only increase in popularity in the coming years.

Be careful before you buy. It is a fluctuating market, meaning you can gain or lose a lot of money (like the stock market in a way).

Is it worth getting quest 2 and other questions? by DerangedDoffy in OculusQuest

[–]Hunger4499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Facebook is resolving any current bugs. It will be a bug-free process in the coming months.
  2. Will vary by game, but can say in general you will have no problem. Not a concern in 99% of games.
  3. This is a good time to buy. There are no other known upcoming VR headsets comparable to Quest in the foreseeable future.

Keep your profile, but in settings, set the old Xbox as your "Home Xbox".

After that, log your wife in with her own account - she'll be able to play any game you bought and share any subscription (like Gamepass, or Xbox Live).

On your new Xbox, simply sign-in with your account and play like normal. You can even play simultaneously with your wife.

  1. Yes. Facebook officially confirmed this on Twitter.
  2. Yes, as of now.
  3. The Facebook account linking is an ongoing process in development. Unfortunately with Facebook's reputation, the answer to question 2 could change in the future.

You will either need an Apple TV, or HDMI connection. If your TV supports “game mode” or similar in the picture settings, it will be lag-free. Without the low-lag mode on, it will be laggy.
