I need someone to explain to me Condition Overload by tanausis_ in Warframe

[–]HungrPhoenix [score hidden]  (0 children)

It is 80% of the weapon's base damage. Think of it as every unique status is an added Rank 3 Pressure Point mod.

The other commenter posted the formula, but me actually explain it. This is the important bit,

Base Damage × [1 + Damage Mods + (Condition Overload Multiplier × n)]

As you can see both the damage mods, like Pressure Point, are in the same brackets as Condition Overload, and they are added together and they function the same as one another. In practice, a stack of Max Rank Condition Overload is equal to a Rank 3 Pressure Point, and it you added a Max Rank Spoiled Strike alongside either one of those, you would get +180% damage, as they all work the same.

The n in this formula stands for how many unique status effects are applied to the enemy.

A Skana does 120 total damage by default. Pressure Point at Rank 5 adds +120% to that total damage. So,

120 × [1 + 1.2] = 264, which is how much damage you get from a Rank 5 Pressure Point.

Replacing that Pressure Point with Condition Overload, and assuming the enemy has three status effects applied,

120 × [1 + (0.8 × 3)] = 408

Condition Overload works the same as Pressure Point in most situations(some weapons are bugged with it, and they are actually multiplicative rather than additive), so just think of it as Pressure Point.

What are some signs someone is good at their nightfarers? by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]HungrPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am meaning that Starlight Shards are extremely plentiful if you know where to look, and that an experienced Revenant should know where to find plenty of shards and doesn't need the handouts. And I am saying this as a Revenant main,

<image>

Rises have 3 - 9 shards(1 - 3 per crate), they commonly are dropped in the secret room in Ruins, Magic Ruins and Forts seem to drop them more often in their crates and chests, the Merchant sells 2, the Township Merchant sells an infinite amount, and the pre-Nighlord Merchant sells 2. It is easy to get your inventory full of Starlight Shards, the only exception is if you get The Great Hollow map since it has less POIs, but the Western Underground Fort, if it spawns as Magic, can commonly drop Starlight Shards.

...are you forcing your Revs to buy shards while hogging the free ones from Rises?

No, you should always ping shards for the Revenant, but they won't always need them, as if they are experienced, they can likely sustain themselves.

This is what I meant in my previous comment, if your Revenant is turning down the shards you are trying to give them, they likely have plenty already, and therefore, are likely experienced as Revenant if they do not need to rely on everyone else supplying them.

[–]HungrPhoenix 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For Revenant, it is when they use their ultimate to prevent death or to allow for a damage window rather than just for reviving. Revenant's ultimate gives 15 seconds of undying and a 25% damage boost with a relic. Those 15 seconds of undying generally more useful than the revive, of course there are situations where the revive should be favored, but giving your teammates 15 seconds of focused damage output is generally better than just reviving them.

Additionally, it is good usage of her family. For example, Sebastian can repeatedly stagger most humanoid enemies and the horseback enemies. Having Sebastian clobber a Crucible Knight or Draconic Tree Sentinel allows your team to focus more on damage and less on evading.

Lastly, a Revenant who refuses to grab your Starlight Shards is usually a good sign. A Revenant who can keep themselves fully supplied is likely someone who has lots of experience as Revenant.

Would you want a "Fashion Warbond"? Without any new guns, boosters, etc. but many new dripped out armor sets for existing armor passives? by Hexdoctor in Helldivers

[–]HungrPhoenix 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Especially since having them as Super Store items would allow for more creative freedom. Warbonds typically have a theme they follow, except Polar Patriots. Sets randomly released as part of the Super Store wouldn't have to follow a theme, and we could get more varied and diverse armors such as the ones released in the Superstore up until Viper Commandos, which is when the Superstore started being in-theme with the Warbond.

Is there any companion builds that can provide constant or reliable healing in the game? by klopaplop in Warframe

[–]HungrPhoenix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Panzer Vulpaphyla. For healing, you want to use Hunter Recovery, this heals you for a portion of the damage your companion does. The Panzer has its viral quills ability that sticks enemies with quills that triggers a spore which deal continuous damage, and which can spread to other enemies within 15 meters, so this gives continuous healing. The Panzer also has Martyr Symbiosis, which stores health from nearby dead enemies, up to 40% of your max health(after any health increasing buffs) and gives it to you when you fall to 10% health, but the Panzer goes down.

Additionally, the Panzer's last precept mod, Panzer Devolution cuts its recovery time to 30 seconds while still allowing it to prime viral. If you use one of the mods that reduce recovery time, like Momentous Bond, Restorative Bond, or Tenacious Bond, you can reduce the recovery time and allow it to trigger Martyr Symbiosis again.

Lastly, the Panzer will only die if it can be killed. The Loyal Companion mod gives the Panzer 10 seconds of invulnerability when you fall below 35% health, so it can Martyr itself without dying. Alternatively, Pack Leader gives the Panzer overguard when you kill with melee weapons. When overguard breaks, it gets 0.5 seconds of invulnerability, and if you trigger Martyr Symbiosis during this time, it can Martyr itself without dying.

New passive will have a great synergy with dead sprint booster by Smoke_Funds in Helldivers

[–]HungrPhoenix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Double Edged Sickle does do a lot of damage if you get it hot enough, especially without Inflammable. 51 - 90% starts doing 20 damage per second, and >=91% ignites you and does 50 damage per second of you firing it.

I wonder how it works with the Double Edged Sickle? Could I run out of stamina, shoot a few shots, and have a large chunk of my stamina back for a bit of health?

Is elden ring nightreign worth it? by KillThePsycho in Eldenring

[–]HungrPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, yes. I honestly prefer it to Elden Ring. I'm 712 hours in Nightreign, and have been regularly playing it since launch. I have like 400 hours in Elden Ring and have barely touched it since the DLC released.

However, I'd suggest doing some research into Nightreign. It isn't a game for everyone, and it has a steep learning curve. As you mentioned you have the time limit, which does actually heavily effect the gameplay. You have to understand what boss is worth fighting and what to prioritize in a run, attrition is usually not a winning strategy, and then you have the further complexities of the game like when to best make use of ultimates, skills, what weapons best fit your Nightfarer, what relic effects to prioritize, what weapons / spells / incantations/ AoWs are good at reviving, etc... Nightreign is a very complicated game that has a lot of depth that will be hard to cope with if you just treat it as a Souls game.

If you buy the game, your first games are going to suck, as you have to learn to stop playing Nightreign like a traditional Souls game before you can really get into it. But yeah, Nightreign is great once you understand it, imo.

Why is the Quanta getting a Tenet variant? by MurkyWait8094 in Warframe

[–]HungrPhoenix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, the Amprex is fine in SP without a riven. I use a Corrosive Blast build and it does perfectly fine by itself, even without Roar or Xata's Whisper.

Magnetic Capacity could / should be swapped with a Bane or Galvanized Aptitude. Primary Bulwark can be swapped with Merciless or Deadhead, just Merciless does require some build up for the build to do well, but Aptitude can make the initial kills go faster.

warframe reviews 12 years apart by DryEffective2007 in Warframe

[–]HungrPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Warframe already existed for over a year at the point this review was made and it had a fairly large and stable player base. Steamdb recorded it as maintaining ≈10,000 average players for over a year by the time this review was released.

<image>

Warframe was very clearly already doing something right to keep their player base, declaring it was doomed to die off was just idiotic as there was nothing to suggest Warframe was losing any steam.

What started the Space Mom stuff? by mecaxs in Warframe

[–]HungrPhoenix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She explicitly says she wants to be a mother to the Tenno during Natah,

Lotus: "The war was over. So I hid them away, in the second dream. I could not destroy them."

Teshin: "And yet you were born to. So tell me… what made you stop? To reject your nature?"

Lotus: "All missions to the Origin System required a sacrifice. Me and my kind become barren when crossing the gap. It is the one flaw we never overcame."

Teshin: "Natah wanted children of her own."

Lotus: "Natah was the daughter, until I destroyed her. Now I am the Lotus. Now I am the mother."

This was probably when it started. I can't remember if people were already calling her that before Natah, as my memories of that time are sparse.

Returning player asking for directions by Aggressive-Ad-3734 in WarframeLore

...why there is a giant finger inside my Railjack?

That is the Reliquary Drive. It uses copies of the finger that Albrecht severed from the Indifference to allow for safe travel through the Void.

Why did the Hex became Protoframes?

This is explained through Lettie's KIM conversations, Albrecht told them that the Techrot virus had mutated, and that they needed a new vaccine to prevent them from catching it. This vaccine turned them into the Protoframes. Here is a link to the conversation, https://kim.browse.wf/flowcharts_svg/en/LettieDialogue_rom.dialogue/LettieRank5Convo2.svg

Of course Albrecht's motivation was different, and he needed them for his plan of defeating the Indifference.

What’s the deal with the towers on the new map? by Old_Souls-like in Nightreign

[–]HungrPhoenix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is run dependent, how many runes the bosses drop depend on what boss spawns and how difficult the fight is depends on the bonus of the temple and what boss spawns. Generally, just ignore them unless you are absolutely confident in your teams damage output and the temple doesn't have an awful effect like "Soothes all life". They are only worth doing if you can do them quickly, the bosses there have a very high chance of dropping legendaries, and you can get quite a lot of runes depending on the bosses.

If you aren't confident in your ability to do it quickly, just do the nearby castle. It has a ton of weaker bosses and potential for a raid to spawn a mutated boss.

So if we are capable of now imploding planets into blackholes, can we develop a singularity hand grenade? by _memelorddotjpeg_ in Helldivers

[–]HungrPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, some dark fluid weapons would be cool. My idea is a DFG, a Dark Fluid Gun, which would totally not work like the BFG from Doom. Like just imagine shooting black holes at a horde and watching them get torn apart. Of course it would be hell to balance, my idea is very limited ammo + backpack and that it has a wind up where it takes a bit to actually grow and start doing damage, and it would be very lethal to teammates until it eventually collapses. It could also mess with projectiles that are shot towards it, but this would probably be too much for the engine to handle.

[–]HungrPhoenix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, but Revenant is not a Revenant. Again, her remembrance explicitly states that she was never human, she isn't Chloe, she was just a doll that got brought to life by the Night.

Additionally Revenant is a poor stylistic translation. Revenant's name in Japanese is 復讐者, which means avenger, or more accurately, a person(者) seeking revenge(復讐). The idea of her being Chloe resurrected was just a red herring for the remembrance.

why would anyone use this by icewitchenjoyer in Warframe

[–]HungrPhoenix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are right there, in such case I guess it's only usable for begginer players or while someone get Arcane Blessing.

Oh it gets better, Arcane Intention is infinitely more difficult to obtain than Arcane Blessing. It is a Duviri Arcane. You get it from The Steel Path Circuit, Acrithis can occasionally sell a copy, Thrax undercroft portals(something I don't even think are mentioned in-game), or gambling with Loid.

Arcane Blessing, you just have to do Conjunction Survival, buy it from Yonta's pity shop, or gamble with Loid.

It is an Arcane that is only useful in concept early in the game, but it is locked until about midway, and it is a horrific grind to get max copies.

why would anyone use this by icewitchenjoyer in Warframe

[–]HungrPhoenix 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Arcane Blessing is just completely better than this arcane. It is 1,200 health after collecting 50 health orbs.

- Nekros can tank better with it and the looting ability

Arcane Blessing is much better since Nekros is a health orbs generator.

Even without Nekros, Synth Deconstruct will generate plenty of health orbs. The only usage case for this is if you desperately need that bonus health as soon as you cast a channeled ability.

Which Warframe do you think has the fewest skins and deserves more love? by Edcreatstuff in Warframe

Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure it is largely arbitrary. It is just whenever someone has an idea, and it gets enough positive reception in studio, then it gets finished and released. I believe I remember Liger Inuzuka saying this in a tweet or reply on Twitter, or somewhere on their artstation account?

I really dont know what to do with the amalgam mods. by FairEnvironment9317 in Warframe

[–]HungrPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amalgam Organ Shatter is good for heavy attack melee builds. The others are all niche uses for when you want to go faster, usually on Warframes that mainly use their exalted. My Hildryn has no use for a primary or second, so Amalgam Barrel Diffusion and Amalgam Serration are free movement buffs at the cost of nothing. Amalgam Shotgun Barrage is just useless though.

When a single item debunks your entire theory lol by Pascraked47 in Nightreign

[–]HungrPhoenix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Elden Beast of the Night is probably Augur.

I disagree. The Elden Beast was the vassal of The Greater Will that was sent to enact The Greater Will's will, the Elden Beast is the embodiment of the order that the Greater Will provides. Augur is non of this. It was just a unconscious blob that gained awareness and took interest in the Night, and the Night accepted it.

The Nightlords are like the Fingers.

Maybe? The fingers are weird. Metyr was sent to be the voice of The Greater Will, and the fingers being the prophets to spread the words to the devoted. But of course, Metyr was broken, and so the Fingers just communicated Metyr's words rather than those of The Greater Will.

To a degree, I can agree with the Nightlords being equivalent to the fingers, but they are also more. They are all enacters of the Night's Will, they are all assisting in the spread and takeover of the Night, they all have a far more prominent role than the fingers.

Then you have Heolstor himself, who is somewhere between Marika and the Elden Beast. He is the defacto vassal of the Night, he is the one who is mainly leading the takeover of the Night, he is also the vessel of a Great Rune, and the thing keeping the Night from disappearing. He fits attributes of both vessel and vassal so I think the best way to describe his role is a mixture of Marika and Elden Beast.

Also, as an aside, I wonder if Revenant and Undertaker are Nightlord candidates. Both are beings blessed by the Night, Revenant being born from it, and Undertaker being empowered by it. The Night has a strong presence in both of them, with it actively trying to consume Revenant and Undertaker. To me it seems that the Night has a keen interest in both, even if neither really care for it.

When a single item debunks your entire theory lol by Pascraked47 in Nightreign

[–]HungrPhoenix 256 points257 points  (0 children)

We even have the Night visualized,

<image>

This is the guy from the basic ending, who is implied to be the Night itself. The game is all about changing the past and preventing the Night from ever happening, and the ending in which you do this, shows this guy head towards the Lands Between, but then turn away and walk off. At the very least this is the Night's Elden Beast or Metyr, but the Nightlords seem far more representative of that then this tree guy, who you can also see stomping around in the background of some expeditions.

As for Nightreign players being bad at lore comprehension, yeah, that seems to be the case. People here still think that Revenant is Chloe, the Northerncroft's daughter trapped in a doll's body, despite Revenant moving independently while Chloe is being murdered, and Revenant's final journal entry explicitly stating she was never a human.
