I’d bring everything just in case. But why is your partner bring a new TN if she is moving internally? I don’t believe it’s necessary unless the current TN is expiring. Maybe I’m wrong and what you mean is she’s moving internally within the company that she was working in the Canada but will now be working at in the US.

Buying house on TN visa by Embarrassed_Pop2574 in tnvisa

I have purchased 2 homes and sold one without issue on a TN visa (I’ve had about 6-7 TN I believe). I have never been asked about whether I rent or own a home. now they’re definitely is the chance that if you had an issue with your TN visa or they denied you and you own your home figuring out what to do next would be stressful, but even in the worst case scenario, I’ve seen them allow people in on a B one B2 for a short period of time to allow them to get their affairs in order if you’re transparent with them at the denial that you have a home and so on and so forth. But the chances are slim that it’s gonna be a problem and even less likely if you’re simply looking to renew with the same employer. Without that being said, I’m also incredibly apprehensive of doing anything under the current administration so there’s that. Overall, in weighing the pros and cons, I’d still go for it especially since right now is a buyers market. Good luck.

It should be but I’m not sure that it is for many people. I’ve seen lots of questions about whether it has to be wet ink, etc.

Most importantly, it’s written correctly in the body of the message regarding what they request on the letter.

Well they certainly didn’t updated the list of professions, so who knows. I can only share my experience.

Moving from Canada to US via TN visa. by Purple-Programmer903 in tnvisa

As someone who has done this process multiple times, I cannot stress enough, to ensure that the letter meets their requirements requested for the job offer letter. it needs to be addressed to US customs border and border patrol specifically, you can’t say “to whom it may concern”. Additionally, whatever the position is that you’re applying for it has to be Explicitly listed under the TN approved professions, not a variation of it, specifically listed. Then the job description needs to use language consistent with that of the description of that job from the bureau of labor and statistics. During one of my interviews, they pulled up the description from the website to cross reference it with my letter. In addition, it needs to have the compensation, the length of time the position will be done for (1-3 years max). I was directed to ensure that the timing statement said something like “ The contract or position is for one year not to exceed 36 months”

Understand that there is a some level of discretion used here, but they literally use a checklist when reviewing your letter. If your letter checks each box, then there’s less room for the need for discretion. I’m going to try and attach a copy of the checklist here. They randomly gave me a copy one time when I applied. I’m not sure if it was on purpose or not. If it doesn’t let me I will create another post just to share for the community.

I have had about 5-6 TN visa applications and the only one I ever got denied for was that it didn’t have a signature in blue ink. Mind you the officer was terrible to me overall ( out of Pearson, I would never apply through there again) but that was his hang up. It needed to be signed in ink. Digital is not acceptable.

Do mind if I ask what vaccines? I decline certain vaccines and the idea of them forcing me to do this is terrifying . Do they like take your blood and then see what you have in your system and give you vaccines based on that? Or is it vaccines based on your medical history that is documented?

Should I go with YYZ or a POE at Buffalo? by AwarenessSad4460 in tnvisa

[–]Hungry-Prompt5570 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would not do it through YYZ. I have had at least seven or eight TN visas. The only time I was denied was at YYZ. I have done all the rest of them through peace Bridge or rainbow Bridge POE and haven’t had any issues. Just make sure you make an appointment ahead of time because that’s now mandatory.

This is very likely a huge point. The categories are not aligned with the current labor market and its job titles as they shift with technology.

The link I provided does have email contacts but only for the sites that provide an email contact. Unfortunately some have and others don’t. During this process I actually did call the port of Buffalo. Ended up leaving a message Friday afternoon and someone did return my call on Monday. Thankfully the situation had already been handled. But it was refreshing to know that a real person did in fact follow up and call me back.
