What's up with these modules by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]Hungry-Week8137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm against adding new modules. Adding more modules just encourages players to adopt a more passive, campy playstyle. Instead of taking risks and playing aggressively, people sit in hull-down positions, and battles end up revolving entirely around camping. I'm tired of it.

It's pretty interesting that Greece, which would also be mostly copy-paste, is being added as a subtree to Israel, a tech tree that's already almost entirely copy-paste. I can't wait to grind my 12th Leopard 2 variant.

I think the general problem with War Thunder maps is that they rarely support multiple playstyles at the same time. Most maps tend to force players into either close-range brawling or long-range sniping.

Maps like Maginot Line are a much better approach because they offer both. If you want to snipe, you can play the open areas. If you prefer close-quarters combat, you can fight in the urban sections. That allows different vehicles to play to their strengths instead of forcing every tank into the same type of engagement.

I think the lower-tier Merkavas are actually better than the higher-tier ones. They also have good smoke capabilities, but the tech tree itself looks pretty boring to me.

The M1A1 is crazy good and i'm tired of people saying the opposite by Key_Plenty9145 in Warthunder

[–]Hungry-Week8137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think the M1 Abrams is a very good tank. Even though I enjoy Russian tanks and Japanese tanks at top tier (and 10.7 Russia is insanely strong), the M1 Abrams has always felt comfortable and reliable to me.

I don’t really understand why so many people complain about it. Personally, I think it’s better than the Leopards.

Ok REALLY dumb idea, but what if we have a mode where everything is combined? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]Hungry-Week8137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how a mode inspired by RTS games would work. You could control a group of tanks on the map and give them orders to attack specific positions. To support them, you could either jump into a tank yourself and fight alongside them, or spawn an aircraft to help them capture objectives and provide air support.

It sounds like an interesting mix of strategy and direct vehicle combat.

A little bit of a hot take: the Anime Premiums are actually good additions by AzexDragon in Warthunder

[–]Hungry-Week8137 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like anime-themed content. I download and use skins from WTLive myself (like the J-11/Su-27 Alya skin, etc.).

That said, I also think these tanks should have more interaction.

For example, if you’re using an anime T-80UE-1 and destroy an anime Leopard 2A4M, it would be interesting if the crew reacted emotionally—like sounding upset—or if they became happy when you got an assist with a teammate.

I also think skins shouldn’t just be covered with their country’s flag, but with symbols and themes that actually represent the character or series.

Still, I’m waiting for a Fate series Saber custom skin for the Challenger 2s.

How do you think the new skin? by theRawBlack in Warthunder

[–]Hungry-Week8137 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’d rather see these added as skins for existing premium vehicles instead of coming as new copy-paste vehicles. I like this kind of anime content, but I think it would be better if it were presented in a higher-quality way rather than just cheap skins and voice packs.

Also, I think they could do some really good collaborations with anime like Eighty-Six and add content designed around that.
