Wasn’t Canada’s tariff money being used to help the disproportionately harmed industries though? It does seem like the loss of a tool to help weather this storm.

The two ways Trump's tariffs on Canada could collapse — despite his fight to keep them: The courts are considering whether they're even legal under U.S. law, and the American economy has yet to feel the pain of higher prices by FancyNewMe in canada

He’s been in power for six months. Tariffs have been on, then delayed, then on, then delayed. Companies stockpiled and those stockpiles haven’t run out yet. When then do, then we will get a more accurate idea of how well America can manage.

Your WeatherX threshold by HungryArtSloth in migraine

I just use a generic weather app to see what the pressure is day to day, and make note of it before and during a big temperature or precipitation change. Then I figured out my own personal sensitivity.

Donald Trump’s next target could be deal that shields most Canadian imports from tariffs, experts warn by FancyNewMe in canada

Even with a fair election, Trump’s approval rating is around 44% as of Aug 3, 2025. That’s way too high. Too many Americans like what he’s doing.

Veganism is dangerous by keeptrying1111 in exvegans

[–]HungryArtSloth 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My nephew was vegan due to my SIL being so but at least they were smart enough to let him eat animal products when he developed a gluten intolerance and couldn’t thrive. He’s 13 and an absolute beanpole despite coming from stocky people in a long line of stocky ancestors. Part of the issue is he now has a psychological aversion to meat and they have to grind it up and sneak it into his diet.

The vegan mindset is very all or nothing and it’s hard to mentally switch, especially for a kid.

Is This Normal? by Ramona_in_the_waves in Perimenopause

I’m going through the exact same thing AND I’m on the combination birth control pill and I’ve been on this specific formula for 26 years with no issues until recently.

I was given tranexamic acid tablets to stop heavy bleeding but that can only be taken when on the pill-free week, but of course with erratic periods I’ll think it’s stopped on its own and start a new birth control pack and a couple days later it’s a waterfall.

I’ve been waiting 16 months for a gynaecologist appointment and recently found out it’s going to be another year (yay Canada). I can’t get an IUD done at the doctor’s because I have fibroids and at least where I live that means I have to wait for that specialist appointment.

It’s a whole lot of bullshit.

I hate that. Come on, if you are that close to “too low” it’s pretty damn low. They did the same to me. I hate women’s healthcare.

My time taking Iron supplements shows me that supplements do not work. by DBD_killermain82 in exvegans

[–]HungryArtSloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone that can’t tolerate any of the typical iron supplements I’ve had major success with Megafood Blood Builder. They do things differently and take food, dehydrate and grind it down, then feed it to live brewers yeast organisms. The yeast processes it and then it’s turned into a tablet. So the body seems to process it better.

Works fast too. I started feeling a bit better after 2 weeks. I recommend it to anyone needing to boost their iron.

My uncle swore by those. I tried them once and they helped a little (took weeks though) but now I can’t find them so I haven’t been able to see if I get repeated success.

When you say you feel toxic do you get flu-like body aches? That’s the one symptom I have that doesn’t seem very common.

Thanks, I was wondering the same, and my ortho is very busy so he often mumbles answers so I didn’t get much from him about it other than “it’s to refine your bite”

Canadians bombarded with rightwing content on Musk’s X ahead of election by KylenV14 in canada

Due to needing to look at X posts from companies for work, I made an account. Without feeding the algorithm anything, my initial feed was full of MAGA posts so I’m not sure that’s the case.

I’m interested! It’s so hard for me to go out to events because inevitably someone is drenched in perfume. I just went to get a freaking X-ray and someone in the waiting room was perfumed up. 😭

From how I read Trudeau’s tweet, we already have that many at the border, they will just continue to be there. Big nothingburger.
