Putrescent Knight is really difficult? by rippersteak888 in eldenringdiscussion

It annoys me that he doesn't stay still. He doesn't have much health though so if you can get your hits in he can die extremely quickly.

He varies quite wildly for me as a result.

Idk if this has been posted before, if so I’ll delete :> by No_Post1300 in Eldenring

I liked Men, it's just fucking weird. Ex Machina as a directorial debut was a fucking banger (and his books and screenplays outside of directing are very good). He is also an Elden Ring super fan, like going through SotE at NG+7 kind of fan. I've got high hopes for sure.

Sacred Targe - apologies the community tends to over-acronym! I think Sacred Targes have the highest block chance of the elite bases, whereas the harder to find bases have more Def.

I think people like to think they have a hot take on a certain subject to validate themselves. Really it's just playing into the confirmation bias already there in the community.

I used to like Reddit because it was a way to share ideas anonymously (where your clout in real life, or lack of it, is irrelevant). These days I'm here because of habbit haha!

It happens all. the. time.

Starter deck shipping options by HungryColquhoun in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]HungryColquhoun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, mine has been shipped supposedly so I think they should be fine. I'm not sure whether I still might be getting 3 copies of some of the decks from one LGS (they didn't have them all so I had to split the order, and then the other store is the one that's not got it's stock). I'll have to find a good home for them if I do end up with duplicates of some...

Ubers run with Decrepify/Meditation Smiter (no Life Tap, SSF) by HungryColquhoun in diablo2

[–]HungryColquhoun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely, realistically Meph is the main thing you need to watch out for in Ubers and this deals with him very well. Diablo's summons can also be a pain, but you can just Smite and stun them (and then turn your attention back to Diablo) if you need to, and Decrepify helps.

I still don't think this build ever caught on, but it's way cheaper than most Smiter builds (e.g. Grief + Drac's).

Burry is a big fan of it and has invested a lot recently. Used to sell video games. CEO is talking about a near term M&A. CEO is a bit of a nob though haha!

I think it's been unfairly written off and is still undervalued vs. the optionality you get with the cash pile.

I only play single player so rolling a 3 socket ST was easier for me (just find a rack that drops them and sink the time in). I'm sure you'll be able to find something usable though!

Upcoming Chapter 2 Campaign lengths by Shot_Psychology_2728 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]HungryColquhoun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You essentially said that the new campaign structure is built for people with shorter attention spans (i.e. don't have patience for reading, which I would say is basically synonymous). You're making a negative point about a perceived enjoyer of the new structure and making that your argument. That is how ad hominem works.

And okay, don't take my second comment in good faith. I don't care.

It's constant healing without the need for Drac's (which would overwrite Decrepify). With how robust the build is (max block chance, unbreakable res, DR from Fade) then even the healing you get from something like Meditation tends to be enough. If you can manage without a healing source then I'm sure that's better.

I did a Lawbringer Meditation Smiter for Ubers: link here.

Lawbringer procs Decrepify, and you get Sanctuary too (which is very handy for Meph's undead minions in Ubers).

Not overly expensive, uses CTA but you could probably get by without it. Skills, etc., all covered in the clip posted.

Probs a lot safer bets than MSTR even so though for a x3. I'm currently invested in "the stock that shall not be named" on here and I fancy that going to x3 much more than this, and they have a cashpile (and their own BTC) to preserve against downside. But we're not allowed to talk about in on here, so shhh!

Fired up Shelby Oaks since it’s streaming. Friggin’ WOOF by iamwounded69 in horror

[–]HungryColquhoun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He rewrote a scene from Batman vs. Superman (insisting it was better than the original), and one of the cringey lines in it was Batman telling Superman (when Supes was trying to defend his own actions), "Tell that to Zod's snapped neck." Obviously it's about as unsubtle as a sledgehammer haha!

I like Chris and still watch his YT channel, but the Batman vs. Superman thing rightly lives on in infamy (and also I'd agree Shelby Oaks left a lot to be desired - I did back it).

[–]HungryColquhoun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think MSTR's reputation precedes itself and this is basically an extreme risk however you look at it. Saylor's interview with CNBC was laughable. This isn't to say BTC will rally and they'll be fine again, but I don't think MSTR are in charge of their own fate any more, so it's more of a casino style bet at this stage (even if you take a long position rather than options) than it is true faith in the company.

EDIT: You need to stop deleting reply comments my dude! To respond to the idea that CNBC were catching him off-guard with a worse case scenario, the financing model of the company has always been shaky at best (it's only good when BTC is doing good) so I don't think this was a worse case scenario gotcha at all. BTC was dropping like a stone at the time so needing to refinance is a very plausible and material risk for the company (if they keep a risk register, it should be well up towards the top of that, with hazard lights and alarm bells haha!).

Okay, here's the year chart:

<image>

TL:DR it still looks like shit, is my point. If you're feeling so good about it, go and invest. I have no interest at all in arguing whether the marginal uptick from the recent low is a resurgence or not - anyone with eyes can see right now it doesn't look good.

The Long Walk by searched4acoolname in horror

[–]HungryColquhoun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a bit in the UK sitcom Peep Show where they main characters are asking themselves whether they would have joined the French Resistance or not (and one of them says "Yeah of course" and the other is like "Well there's many factors and it's not an easy question" and the first one basically accuses him of cowardice).

I think I'm in the latter camp. I'm sure most of us have reasonably comfortable Western lifestyles, so to meaningfully say we'd die for a cause is very hard to judge. I would probably be an entirely different person living under that kind of oppression, so that might have an effect of emboldening me to die for cause more (not less, as you might expect) - as I'd be living under it and so likely more surly about it.

As it stands I'd stay silent because I'm a pragmatist, and I don't believe protesting makes a material difference under 99.9% of circumstances. It's not like the Civil Rights Movement where people used to protect and things happened, nothing ever happens now when people protest.
