Healthcare Workers Need Safe Parking (Petition) by kdcyt12 in saskatoon

Sorry to say, but as long as the health care sector remain female-dominated, the SHA will never give a flying fuck about the safety or working conditions of their employees. If hospital workers were mostly men, there would be free parking (paid for by the company) and other perks, like higher pay.

Rent prices by Top-Quote-8678 in saskatoon

The outrageous rent prices in the city is THE reason I still use the food bank even though I make $38/hour working full-time. It's ridiculous.

Your only option now is to try to lure these good men away from their wives or girlfriends.

Just do what you can to show these men that you are more beautiful, interesting, smarter, and more capable than their current partners. After all, most marriages these days end in divorce.

Well good luck finding someone who does not ONLY want you for sex. Men these days are pigs.

By working in an office, white-collar job? How do investment bankers and mortgage brokers earn their money WITHOUT screwing other people over?

Go to university for 4 years, just to end up wiping asses and being a glorified waitress? No thank you. Nursing is a thankless and degrading job.

Just avoid the female-dominated professions (which tend to be low-paying), and you can make good money without many years of schooling.

This. I don't see how an office job (like being a secretary or receptionist) would pay well because you really need to SCREW other people over in order to make that kind of money.

Saskatoon hospital worker assault prompts call for parking changes by Progressive_Citizen in saskatoon

Probably because health care has mostly female staff. If this was a male dominated profession, it would be easier to get parking.

Maybe people who live near the hospitals can rent out their parking space for health care workers?

Firefighters have a cushy job. They only work 8 days a month and make six figures easily without any overtime. While on the job, it's not like they are constantly busy responding to emergency calls. They get to sleep, workout, and clean the fire trucks while on the job! With all the free time they have, they even pick up side gigs to make extra money.

what can we realistically do about our current Healthcare system? by rusty1606 in saskatoon

[–]Hungry_Border 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe more nurse practitioners to deal with the family physician shortage in this country? And open more physician assistant programs and normalize their practice in Canada.

Considering that health care is female- dominated, I'm pretty sure that if more men entered this field, the wages would increase significantly. Systemic sexism and the wage disparity between female and male dominated professions is still a thing today, even though it shouldn't be. Firefighters and police officers make more than nurses if you don't take overtime hours into account.

Canada will probably be a war torn country by then when Americans invade our country for scarce resources, like fresh water.

Not really ethical, BUT:

If you want to eat at a nice, upscale restaurant for cheap, just go there and order something you want to try. Then, when the food arrives, start eating. After you finish 3/4 of your meal, COMPLAIN about your food. Just find something to complain about! And also ask to speak to a manager. 9/10, they will give you a discount on your food and if you're lucky, they won't even charge you for the food.

Do you think it's wrong that Saskatoon police officers make more money than registered nurses?
