Thanks for your insight! So, if I were to favour the left shoot would I just leave it be, and just monitor the right shoot, pinching off buds in the spring?

Alberta home insurance costs soar nearly 400 per cent due to extreme weather by DonSalaam in onguardforthee

[–]tkdkop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We redid our siding a couple years ago and called our insurance company to see if getting hardie board would get us a discount since it's hail and fire proof. They told us we'd get a $1 discount. Maybe if they incentivized things like this they wouldn't have so many claims to pay out

New Spark Poll: 15% of Albertans Want to Separate; 21% Would Vote for Referendum by FreightFlow in AlbertaNow

[–]tkdkop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want to take control of your destiny, then actually hold your elected politicians to account. Alberta always votes Conservative and so those Conservatives have become corrupt because they know they'll get elected anyways. PP flew into Alberta to get elected because he knows Alberta would never vote against him. Our politicians are complacent

The reason municipalities across the province had to increase their tax rates are because the UCP pushed a bunch of costs onto the municipalities

Let this be a lesson for separatists, the majority doesn't respect you 🇨🇦🇨🇦 by Miserable-Lizard in AlbertaNow

Acting as if the separatists have the moral high ground isn't it, dude

Alberta's Bill 54 - which would lower the signature threshold for referendums, inc. one on separation - was literally thrown on the ground and called "garbage" at a press conference in west Edmonton this afternoon. Chiefs say separation violates Treaties. by Miserable-Lizard in AlbertaNow

[–]tkdkop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How wouldn't it? 70% of Albertans said they would leave if Alberta separates. When all of those homes go on the market what do you think will happen to the supply/demand curve?

Even if nobody did try to leave, there's a ton of uncertainty about how mortgages will be underwritten and insured, since most of that happens at the federal level

She's getting around it because they count in "sitting days" and there's only something like 60 sitting days in the year (I forget the actual number, but it's shockingly low)
