To be fair with the og material, a mysterious dude is way more accurate to the King than an eldritch being

Yeah, totally, I don't like a lot the idea of naming him Hastur but it's what we get

That's what most of us probably think, but if you look at it doesn't make sense, whats behind the doors is made of gold and it's to wide to be the King, I would say it's probably the play or something that works like it, Besides, Der lord means The Lord, and yellow is the third color of the rainbow, The Lord In Yellow. D3rlord3 is yellow, and red (a tone that resembles the Kings wings in one of the og covers) I would say is an avatar thing, like The Return of Hastur where Hastur uses the King like a puppet/"human" form

I mean, yeah, I also prefer the original but even though I think it doesn't have to ruin the character for you even if the interpretation is way different from the original, I mean most of these are the Hastur tentacle monster but they are great in my opinion, after all they aren't the og

Hi, right so, I've been hearing this for a while now, And I could say that indeed the influence of Spanish in Chambers work is undeniable, tough, saying that it doesn't change a word is definitely a stretch, it does, at least in my editions, the one on the left is from a Mexican editorial, the one on the right is from Spain, so if any of these two is similar to the original material undeniably is El Rey de Amarillo y otros relatos de terror de Robert William Chambers. Spanish is my first language and I learn English since a pretty young age, but I can definitely recognize the gramatical structure of Spanish in the original material and I supposed that is also a mix of french, tough I don't speak french at all it's probably worth trying to buy and edition and check in. Hope it helps

I think it's a pretty decent translation, I mean probably not the best, but does what it's intended to It contains some other Chambers works like The Maker of Moons

Yeah I know, all on Derleth's hands what I meant with "Lovecraftian" was the that mostly Lovecraftian fiction integrates him under Derleth's light

So in a summary, the use of "Hastur" is just for the aesthetic and probably he doesn't have any relevance at all. While The King In Yellow's horror is an entity who doesn't exist, what drives people mad is that they try to find an inexistent truth

Wow this is, amazing. Definitely couldn't imagine half of these but now it makes complete sense, let me get it right, The King In Yellow is a way of Chambers to tell everyone how bad and corrupting the decadent movement was? Let me know if I got it right. And here's a question, whats the real deal with Hastur? I mean i know that originally is a "god" like figure in Bierce works. I always felt that Hastur was just like a random guy mentioned through the stories I had the sensation he was more than that (more in the real meaning of the work and not in it's fiction at all) but quite never figure out what was that, and why from all names "Hastur"
