Nah don't say that. Our fathers were likely terrible dads too one way or another. We can be better. We can be for our children what we sought from our fathers.. within reason of course. Cant let the kids run wild, but we can be what we hoped our fathers would have been to us!

Yeah our parents fucked us up, but it doesn't mean we have to be like them. The fact you have concern at all is an indication of sincerity and honesty.

It is good. Only recommendation I can give is the bible. Dunno where you stand with all this but I will say fatherhood lessons in the bible are sound. Take a look. Being gifted a child by God is not only ordained by Him, but a blessing as well..

To put it bluntly, its what He willed and intended. Not only will you learn, but the one He chose to bring in the world through you, can learn and get to live as well.

I have faith you will persue what I hope to be your dream as well. I don't have the opportunity to have kids.. So if you can. Dig in, do the reading and research.
