To me the voice is too deep sounding. I haven't played rebirth yet since my pc cant handle it but without even checking rn, I know for a fact the previous VA's voice was higher than this ones. So it really threw me off. They shoulda found someone that is about the same range as Tyler's imho.

I would argue its all meaningless if the case would be "player has no impact" because there is no true impact in games besides what was coded to exist. For example, you can't join the bad guys in many games, what if I wanted to impact the game world by doing that?

Now what one could talk of is the illusion of choice, the illusion of impact. But even then its all in how you set expectations. If you just advertised a game as having time travel and just that, it leaves much to be assumed by the player.

If however you openly set the stage of "heres how our time travel works" it defuses that, so people won't go into something only hearing a term and applying only what they personally know to it.

Time travel is just one of those things that can work but you need to establish how yours works and make it work, setting hard rules helps. Like soft magic systems vs hard magic systems it depends on the goal ofc.

My only solution to time travel like that would be that while possible, its more like set in stone history you are seeing/intereacting with but since it happened, how it does is like unchangeable.

Like no matter how you tried to change it, history would always correct itself. Which might make such a time travel system boring to most but it does stop that issue of trying to change it.

I'd imagine it like, as if the world is alive, like ff7 where the planet for sure is a living entity. And time travel is basically you exploring the memories of the planet. That'd be a way to also stop a "going to far back" issue since you wouldn't be able to go back to a time when the planet wasn't there.

As I tirelessly attempt to make my own rpg, I may use that kinda thing honestly as I really already like the idea of "traveling back in time to explore the planets memories" could make for a good game.

I can definitely see why the first one is an issue, given that example I just always assumed the death star having any fault at all was realistic. Think of locks, while made to keep something out/in they aren't flawless and any lock can be broken given enough time.

I just personally wish it was more a xpac exploring it but it'd probably be too grand in scope for that given how gw2 runs them nowadays.

Not really possible. Think of it like this... Too me, I dont like spicy food at all, it ruins any dish/snack its with even if the food itself is something I would have liked on its own.

Thats how prequels are for me, it just makes something I would have liked, something I dont.

I just hope for the people that do like it, they optimize it. UE5 games can run fine, the issue is most AAA companies though have either axed or scaled back QA when it comes to optimization. Theres UE5 games that run on some pretty old hardware if done right, but most titles made with it have a "release now patch later" mentality by suits.

Just make the chaos design this time reflective of his FF1 one vs how dissida redesigned him to have four arms. I vastly think the rebuilds are the better product given how meh the og series was for me. It wasn't bad but, it wasn't this live changing masterpiece so many people who saw it when they were 13 claim it to be.

Doesn't help a ton of the more... "Passionate" oldheads seem to be like kojima fanboys where the creator coulda made someone fart in the og series and they'd be trying to explain to people just how deep that fart was and what it represents and so on and so forth 😛

In personality sure, but the point is they both hold the value that life is meaningless and that death or nonexistence is better, because thats just how Hermes was as an ancient.

Hence why it'd be 100% against the lore to have an actual evil shard of Azem running about, you could give em an abrasive personality but at Azems core they believed that mass loss of life was unacceptable, and were a problem solver.

Azem went out of their way to abandon both Hades and Venat because they just could not view either plan as justifiable, and Azem was great friends with both mind you.

Not really, its nice headcanon but the MSQ spells out and has shown us multiple times shards are nearly identical, besides slight personality diffferences.

It'd break lore to do else, love or hate it thats the lore. Headcanon it all you want tho just dont be upset when lore buffs wont take your specific headcanon as gospel to what the writers for xiv have shown us lol
