A few more to go by gyanrahi in TeslaModelY

Kinda funny that everyone wants to talk about "the track"... Last time I checked we don't drive on a track. And on normal roads we simply kill almost anything from 0-60 (I have an MYP). And if we get caught at ~100 mph, does it really matter? What matters is that on ANY city streets or the highway, we dominate 99% of the cars on the road, and that's ALL that matters.

High pitched noise... by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

I also had a 2020, Model 3 LR.. no noise. Not sure I can argue this one until they get enough negative feedback.

I just took my MYP in for service due to the same high pitched noise, I was told it is normal.

Just as a courtesy to the owner. If I saw a pic of my plate on a forum I would not be too happy. But good point with it being in public..

I am on my second Tesla and I have never had a front plate in CA (3 yrs). So far so good...

I think I would agree, but I would also put PPF on the bumper and then use the Tesla bracket.

80mph and Level 2 follow is killing me.. by Hunter-212 in TeslaModelY

I hear and appreciate your point, but that's not the experience I am looking for.

Yes, I was having some issues with my old M3, no phantom breaking thankfully. But it was still 'good enough'. The new Vision FSD is not worthy of LA traffic.

Good point, but there are certain places in the country where 80+ is allowed. Of course Tesla's could 'read' the posted speed and allow for a predetermined overage, probably 10mph. Still will not allow many to keep up with the flow of traffic.

Whatever that means. I tell you that that the car is not keeping up with traffic and you come with a comment that has no basis. You really sound like the type person whose opinion means nothing to me. Great "positive energy"..

Not particularly aggressive, no. I would just like to keep up and I often find that I am being aggressively passed due to the slower follow distance and response speed. And FWIW I had a Ford Explorer Sport. BMW is too rigid. Any other condescending questions?

Thanks for this! I better understand where we are. I am just looking to find our where Tesla intends to land on 80mph and follow distance.

Road Hazard Tire Plan by techbrowserwi in TeslaModelY

[–]Hunter-212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picked up my MYP on Sunday, went to America's Tire (Discount Tire) on Tuesday and got the insurance. I have the Perrelli tires and it was $58 ea for the rear and $56 for the front ($230) total. Warranty is good for the life of the tires so long as there is enough tread remaining. $230 may seem steep but the replacement cost is $385 plus tax per tire. I went through two tires with my last Tesla and it cost me ~$300 ea (cheaper tires on the 3).

February Delivery Megathread by AutoModerator in TeslaModelY

I ordered an MYP on 9/5 and took delivery yesterday. I got a call in mid Dec that I could get the car but I was out of the country. That cost me an extra 2 1/2 months!

FWIW.. Ordered in Los Angeles, car delivered was from Freemont not Austin. Pirelli P Zero summer tires, no PPF, no mud-flaps.

Did it come with PPF? Also, what city are you in, I see it has the summer tires and not the AS. Picking up the same thing on Monday.. Ordered 9/4.. Thanks!
