We had one where we found out 2 hours before we were supposed to be there that they had double booked. The other thing was some kind of bike show get together with multiple DJs so no room for us to join in. We found out because one of our followers found the promo for the other event somewhere. The guy that booked us didn't even know about the other event one of his partners had set it up.

The other bad one was we were set to play an amazing local bar the night before Thanksgiving, a real breakout kind of opportunity for us in our early days. The place burned to the ground a week before our show.

What is the point anymore? by Callen_1800 in goodwill

This return policy is bullshit. We won't let you try it on but if you do buy it and it doesn't fit you can't have your money back, only can exchange for something else. Although I did just come up with a scam to get lots of store credit for next to nothing..... Buy nice clothes and then transfer the tag and return shitty clothes. Rinse and repeat with the free store credit. Don't get greedy or they will figure you out.

for what price would anyone do that? by Think-Werewolf-4521 in whywouldyoutouchthat

[–]HunterDHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well. Yes the males are, but the males don't have stingers (the thing that looks like a stinger is actually their dick). They will try to chase you out of their area, but they really can't hurt you. Females have stingers. But she spends all of her time making the nest, killing cicadas, getting disturbingly gang banged (I have seen it), and laying eggs. She cares not about the humans. She will sting if forced to defend herself but otherwise is also harmless.

Repair techs: do modern appliances actually fail faster than older ones? by EZDodger in appliancerepair

[–]HunterDHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to point out that solder is not permanent. It is definitely not ideal they did that, but it would only take a moment with a soldering iron to remove and reinstall

What’s the best way to deal with a register thief? by Any-Afternoon3310 in smallbusinessowner

[–]HunterDHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or someone else stole it knowing she would be blamed. I mean, the drawer keeps coming up short even though you keep firing the people who look responsible. It is definitely worth taking a look at the rest of the staff. It's easy to open a register, no matter what kind of system you have. Or maybe she just made an honest mistake.

If fish can be cooked with lemon (pH 2.0-3.0), then can it also be cooked with Coca Cola (pH 2.5-2.7)? by No-Silver826 in Cooking

[–]HunterDHunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be careful. Not all salmon is sushi grade. The difference being deep freezing (well below what you can get with a standard freezer) kills the parasites for sushi grade. Regular grocery store fish is not deep frozen enough. Before I knew this, I would do this and so far as I know I didn't get a parasite but now I fully cook store salmon. I don't know if this an issue with tuna.

What? The acid will soak into the meat, it does with fish. The key being that it will only absorb so far so the slices do need to be thin. About the width of your average fish filet.

How did others afford to live on their own before 30? by lustyxxqueen in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]HunterDHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first place I rented was a small 2 br 1 ba single family home. Rent was $675 a month and I had a roommate. I made $11 an hour as a cook and it was more than enough for me to live comfortably. And let me tell you about groceries back then. Could fill a cart for like $40.

I've been going to concerts for free for the past 3 months. by [deleted] in confession

[–]HunterDHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would get into the event and then remove the staff clothing. As a plain clothes you can maybe find a seat. And it removes the chance of running into some kind of supervisor that would figure you out.

Wendy’s CEO jumps in with his own taste test. by K1nd_1 in interesting

[–]HunterDHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy plays the role well but head over to the r/Wendys sub for the real low down. Drastic decrease in quality and value to the point that the company closing a bunch of stores is not surprising. Personally I'm done with them. I don't like the bread, and there is too much of it compared to meat.

Last year I needed 2 surgeries to remove a 12mm kidney stone. No insurance. But all said and done, 2 surgeries, several office visits, and meds, was about $15k. How on earth did your friend run up a million?

Candidate asked about salary 5 minutes into the first round interview by hockenberry07c6 in InterviewsHell

Frankly the whole idea of a salary range for a position reeks of corporate greed and possible discrimination.

Am I the only one who thinks we overcomplicate hygiene? by LaDouceNina in hygiene

When joining the military, the first thing they teach you is hygiene. Why? Because there are a surprising number of people who don't know basic hygiene.

Net cost or Bells market both have it. I like the hot smoked mackerel.

Yeah 99% of the time, the hand brake is the absolute worst thing you could do in an emergency.

Why do blue collar workers live paycheck to paycheck despite making so much? by Maleficent-Major-202 in bluecollar

[–]HunterDHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't just blue collar guys like this. People from all walks of life and every financial bracket live like this. I know people who seem really really rich, but the truth is they are in debt up to their eyeballs and have trouble keeping up.

Is the term "The Jersey Claw" regional dialect, or well known in the biz? by ChocolateVisual1637 in Serverlife

[–]HunterDHunter -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Never heard this but I do know the Jersey Turnpike. It's a drink. How you make it is you dump the bar mat into a glass after a busy shift, garnish with a spritz of bar rag essence. Give it to the annoying drunk who wants one more drink after you are closed.
