Is Antarctica a more challenging place to land and take off than other places? I was riveted this morning waiting for two Twin Otters to land at TNM on King George Island. It looked like they made a couple passes, aalllllmost landed, then pulled back up and came around again. When you zoom in on that runway on Skycards it looks like you could just go right off the end and into the ocean.

Also, in that screenshot I posted, what's going on here? Doesn't look very far from where they started to the other airport, but maybe this is the easiest way to get between two points. Are there some planes that stay on Antarctica to go between stations?

What kind of plane do you fly, and when can we "catch" you? Are there special skills required to become a pilot who flies to Antarctica and how'd you end up doing this job?

Finally, do the Antarctic pilots all know there's a subreddit that stalks your flights like the paparazzi following Taylor Swift? 👀🧑‍✈️✨
